Level 30 Psyker feels aweful above Malice threat level

Neither do anything but disablers. It´s the combination of everything. Ofc it´s also quite useful against everything else. In that case it works like a flamethrower clearing the trash on a huge range, so you can focus on the other stuff without the need off a close-range aoe weapon.

I don´t mind others telling their pov or giving ideas for “how to do better”. And yes, i tend to agree on one or another thing and i´m not saying some of the suggestions you or others made are wrong.
As i´ve said, it´s just another thing if ppl show up with nothing else like “it´s a hot mess”, “it´s not viable” etc… How should someone argue against it?
Of course better players will make use of everything, but again we´ve 5 difficulties to balance around. While some players see a need of buffs, others will see a need of nerfs to keep a challenge. And not everything is flawed because it´s more niche or situational. It´s still a coop-game, you don´t have to do everything.

And idk in which category you would fall. I wouldn´t play a class if i don´t enjoy it. I get your point if the other classes don´t attract you. In that and until one or another tweak in your favor isn´t done, i would tell you as other again, just try a different build. I wouldn´t play Psyker if he would be so hard staff-related aswell tbh. I tried stuff until i found what i use imo.

Throwing in my two cents:

Overall, and as a player of Heresy and Malice (haven’t played Damnation yet) with 60 hours on psyker, I feel it’s in a pretty good spot - but could certainly use some tweaking in a few areas.

I’ve found my stride with a deflector force sword and headshot-quelling voidstaff. I feel like I have an answer for every situation:

  • Long range or elusive threat? BB
  • Elite/Special/armored in close range? Force sword special attack.
  • Dense pack of armored elites? Multiple push-attacks knock them all over (seriously amazing stagger strength)
  • Clumps of ranged enemies? Use voidstaff to target their feet and stagger them over, close range with deflector.
  • Horde incoming? Voidstaff at head leve for nearly infinite charged spam. When they get close I have a decent melee weapon with infinite dodges.
  • Panic situation? Ultimate knock back / stagger to create space and can rapidly BB something or do a revive.
  • Reviving enemies? +Stamina with deflector and blocks use peril makes me a clutch revive champion.

I feel like there is nothing I can’t handle and no situation I don’t have an answer for. That to me is awesome. Psyker feels like a jack of all trades character that is pretty good at all of it too!

I do think psyker needs some more build diversity. You basically have the above and the other version with surge staff.

I think the feats related to soulblaze are really weak, and that if they want to have more play styles they need to look at those feats.

I think warp charges consume too much of peoples attention for what is ultimately a pretty small part of the kit IMHO. I’d like to see whole set of talents focused on doing something special with war charges. Maybe one scales your damage, another automatically adds soul blaze to most attacks, etc.

But overall, I feel that the class is fun to play and has a very diverse range of tools. I’ve played other classes and keep coming back to psyker.

“The Force swords heavy is also incredible at closing gaps due to the forward momentum” is this still the case or was it a casualty of the slide heavy nerfs? I noticed a lot of across the board heavy momentum nerfs on weapons (which sucks).

I other words people suck at this game. No wonder you actually need to apply critical thinking to understand and learn how to play the tide games.

That said psyker could use some number tweaks here and there buffing some feats to allow more choices, but that goes for literally any class.
