Unfortunately, this advice doesn’t work for me - because I’m with bots.
What’s even more offensive, since the release of this bloody DLC, I have saved many Heroic Deeds with the Vanguard. Especially for this Challenge. But with bots, I cannot do this, they cannot be left even for a second.
These disgusting headshots are taking all my attention that I even let the rat-ogre leap. And I saw him only once in the last month. This thing does not want to jump
I did manage to do it with bots but I have to admit they are a pain. I think I did the challenges on champion and killed 2 of them, leaving only an IB with a flamethrower so that he wouldn’t snipe the idle elites before me.
You had an IB in the match, while you played Outcast Engineer? 
I guess you maybe meant Sienna with a flamethrower?

I still have around 40% of OE’s achievement to finish, and I DO try to complete them every time I run the map. And I play only 2 characters now: GK (2 achievements left) and OE…
Yup I totally agree that those achievements are tough, cruel and unforgiving. But that’s achievements, you have to put effort in.
For me the worst part it - I don’t that much love playing as Engi - his clearly a support character and you don’t get much teamplay in pugs.
It’s like all I do is crank that silly handle and frantically switch between weapons to pick the best tool for the job.
I still believe he does not need a buff, but I wouldn’t turn down a rework of that ult mechanics…

I am still trying fruitlessly to complete this bloody “Targeting Array”.
I corresponded with several people, including the authors of the Challenge Guides - and so many really did not know about this damn patch, which changed 5 headshots to 20.
Well, I got some advice, but what’s good on paper and in theory doesn’t work in practice.

Yeah I agree that this really should be brought down to something reasonable like 10 or the old 5 it was at launch. Even if it wasn’t working as intended at launch this is kind of a rude thing to “fix” because of how basically all the knowledge out there is of people saying “Don’t worry you only need 5” on any given guide of these achievements, as well as how many people got it back then only needing 5. It feels like punishing people who got this DLC later.
The variance of bullet direction per shot + the RNG of playing with bots who may get in your way when standing still or trying this with pubs makes this more luck based than skill based which I don’t think makes for an engaging or fun challenge.

I feel your pain.
I’ve spend several hours yesterday cheesing the pit. Eventually I got it (I suggest Champion with weakish bots - get to the spot, increase the twitch spawn rate and frequency - get the CW romp - get 20 hits in - finish the lvl).
Frankly I don’t think that 90% of the playerbase is able to do 20 concurrent headshots in real run environment.
