I think it’s fair to say that’s a point against the agri.
I honestly wonder if the agri’s “spam slug only” game play is why this thread exists. Using Lawbringer as a support weapon is much better than trying to main horde clearing with it.

Yes I’m aware of all those things, I just don’t know why I’d bother finessing Agrip when I can just aim centre mass with Kant, kill in the same number of shots anyway, and have actual utility on my special shot rather than it just transforming my gun into a worse revolver.
Also no respite is where like half your single target damage comes from and hitting headshots on enemies that are flat on their back is a pain.
I’ll take the shotgun that actually plays intuitively for a shotgun where you’re effective by aiming centre mass thanks.
A sad casualty of the normalization of weaponry in darktide currently occuring.
Thats why lawbringer is nice. Most enemies are singletaps on headshot. Or twotap to body at pretty excellent ranges. I havent tried the kant since patch 12. I never liked it much.
I think it’s just better lawbringer if you don’t mind sacrificing a little range TBH. You should definitely give it another try, just don’t be pulled into the trap of thinking you’re meant to spam special or something, that’s almost always what seems to lead pretty astray with Kant.
In turn I’ll give lawbringer another go and see if my mind if changed on it.
How should i build it to maximize my enjoyment? I actually have a lot of good ones laying around on zealot. Assuming we are both discussing zealot
I’ve been primarily using it on melee Vet with power sword and Survivalist but I admittedly haven’t adjusted that build to the new tree yet. Fire dots not stacking onslaught anymore hurts the synergy a bit.
For the gun itself just the usual no respite + full bore. Give 0 sh1ts about hitting head shots just brainlessly centre mass everything and stay on the front line as usual. Normal shot spam 90% of the time but the times to use special shot include if you really want to stagger a scary group of melee elites coming towards you, mass suppress shooter groups, or deal with an annoying pack of bulwarks.
It kills snipers too. Just load a dragon’s breath round and fire in the direction the sniper looks to be aiming from and the DoT will kill them.
Shotguns apparently don’t activate Onslaught per pellet now either, breaking that synergy too.
I like all the shotguns tbh, but none of them really feel like they fill the role of a close range murder machine like the doom 2 ssg. All the shotguns seem like midrange focused elite deleters when what i really want is a coach gun or double barreled weapon that i can stick in a maulers chest and unload both barrels at the same time.
Yes thats what i really want, a double barreled shotgun that really does the concept of the weapon justice in a horde shooter. Special: fire both barrels and nuke a melee elite/blast a hole in a horde, or shoot 1 barrel at a time for distant enemies. This is my dream weapon. I want it now
Maybe good news!
