@Valorean Thanks for the info!
The developer investigating would also like to know which .NET Framework your friend currently has installed. To find this, please ask them to do the following:
- Open the Windows Start menu and type ‘Powershell’
- Select ‘Windows Powershell’ app
- Paste the following command and press ‘Enter’
Get-ChildItem ‘HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP’ -Recurse | Get-ItemProperty -Name Version -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | Where-Object { $_.PSChildName -match ‘^(?!S)\p{L}’} | Select-Object PSChildName, Version
- Next, please paste the following command and press ‘Enter’
dotnet --list-runtimes
- Please copy all of the results shown to us
After doing this, we have also prepared a new launcher build with a small change. Can your friend please try switching to the beta_launcher
and let us know if there’s any improvement?
- Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library
- Select ‘Properties’
- Select the ‘Betas’ tab
- In the dropdown, select ‘beta_launcher’
- Restart Steam
- Launch Vermintide 2
Please let us know how this all goes
alright, i made him follow the instructions and here are the results.
for the beta launcher part, sadly it didn’t change anything.
it is still this error message.
Thank you @Valorean! I’ve passed this is on internally and I’ll be back in touch again when I have any update.
alright, i will be waiting
any good or bad news sir ?
@Valorean, apologies for the delay - I’m still waiting for a response from our launcher developer. I’ll continue to chase and let you know when I hear from them.
Thank you for your continued patience!
@Valorean, the launcher developer has told me they are out of suggestions unfortunately though based on the screenshots you have shared previously, they have asked how the launcher behaves for your friend for Darktide (MS Store)?
I’m aware that the launchers between both games share many elements, so I assume this is why they are asking about Darktide and how this launcher is behaving.
yea his launcher works and indeed he has it from the microsoft store.
and also yea his problem is just strange i guess
@Valorean, thanks the info! This has given our developer a bit of a lead.
They are currently working on a potential fix that we can push to the beta_launcher later for your friend to test. I’ll let you know once this is available for your friend to try
thank you, i will be waiting in that case
the message has drastically changed now
here is the new one
Super, thank you! I’ll pass this on internally and be back in touch soon!
@Valorean, we have another update on the beta_launcher to try.
Firstly, please can you ask your friend to do the following -
-
Ensure Steam is run without Administrator permission
-1. Right-click the desktop Steam.exe icon
-2. Select ‘Properties’
-3. Select the ‘Compatability’ tab
-4. Make sure the ‘Run this program as administrator’ checkbox is not selected
-5. Select ‘OK’
-
Delete the launcher folder in the Vermintide 2 directory, here:
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2
-
Open Steam and verify integrity of game files
-1. Right-click Vermintide 2 in your Steam library sidebar
-2. Select ‘Properties’
-3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
-4. Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
-5. When complete, close and reopen Steam
-
Launch Vermintide 2 using the beta_launcher
Please let me know how they get on.
got it, i am asking him to do as the instructions said, i will get back to you shortly
sadly no, after doing everything this message still is here
but thanks anyway for your patience and your desire to keep helping us
Ah okay thanks for the update again. I’ll let the developer know and wait to see if there’s any further things they can suggest or we can try.
i hope there is still a solution for my friend, other than maybe uninstalling steam and download it
Apologies for the wait @Valorean, I haven’t received a response yet, though I have nudged the development team a further time. Hopefully there may be something else we can try I’ll be in touch as soon as I hear back.
In the meantime, if your friend is able to try reinstalling Steam, and then a clean reinstallation of Vermintide 2 this may well be worth trying - and if this fails it’s another potential solution we can then rule out.
sadly no, he tried uninstalling steam and still nothing, at this point i want to ask him to factory reset his computer xs
