I jus’t installed the game via Microsoft Store and can’t see any option on launcher config or game options to change language of the game, can’t even change it via user settings file.
It’s ridiculous that a AAA game doesn’t have the option to change the language in the game menu on launch.
This method works for me. (I changed from en to chinese simplified)
I tried it several times and nothing, when i launch the game after changing the file option it just changes the language again to english

You can try just put “es”.
that’s what i meant, es is the id for spannish localization, i know that, i tried es, es-ES, es-es… you know every variation, but that does not justify that they did not add something as basic to the game as it is an option to change the language in the menu or the launcher
i mean i know basic english and how to change options by config files but there’s many of players that can’t do that

this is when i change the option before launching the game. you said you don’t speak spanish so just in case the option marked is read-only.
and this is after i launch the game, as you can see it automatically change the language again to english.

Just in case, did you save(ctrl + s) your file after u make changes? because I saw top left next to the file name got “*”
yes i did, after i changed the option to “es” I reopened the file just to check that the edit it’s saved

well obviously not forme haha, but i’ll keep trying things… is there any other localization id i can use?
Step 1: Close all warhammer 40000 darktide game processes or tabs
Step 2: untick “read-only” checkbox from file properties and save
Step 3: open user_settings.config as notepad
Step 4: change “en” to “es” and perform “ctrl + s”
Step 5: tick “read-only” checkbox from file properties and save
Step 6: open the game.
PS: Language changes will not affect the game launcher, need to verify at in-game menu.
maybe you follow these steps and try again? If still cannot then I have no more idea
For my case even if I type language code wrongly, the language id will still remain the code that I typed, it will not automatically change back to “en”. So I suspect your user_settings file did not actually saved in that folder.
