Hi im playing on gamepass and the game just wants to be german no matter what. My pc is set to english, i rewrote the userfile in appdata, set it to read only, but no matter what, it doesnt want to change language. Has somebody had the same issue or a solution? cheers

Changing language in Gamepass is quite convoluted. Other players have shared their steps on how to do this in this thread:
Like I said. I did all that. It still doesn’t work. The file even says “en” but the game is still german

Tried the following new directory:
“%APPDATA%\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore\Darktide”
instead of
“%APPDATA%\Roaming\Fatshark\DarktideExternal”
the new one works

In Microsoft Store folder version of user_settings make sure you’ve changed language_id value in 2 places inside the file. The MS version has another one a bit below the first one appearing.
Indeed. That solved it. i only changed the first one. Thank you very much fellow imperial citizen. The german translation just felt off. Now i can enjoy the game in low gothic as it was intended.
