Can we address the lack of enemy tagging and objective work being done by the playerbase?
In the last 20 games, I’ve seen maybe a total of 20 tags on enemies by other players. In 100% of matches, I have seen at least 1 player not tag at all. A lot of the time, it’s all three players never tagging. This results in the other players not noticing enemies and taking damage over and over. I’m consistently going 1/4 to 1/2 a match without taking damage, but people are losing health in the first room we get to with enemies. I’m covering them constantly, staggering enemies, etc. and it just doesn’t matter if they don’t help themselves and each other.
Same goes for hacking objectives. I end up having to do 60+% of them because some players simply will not do them. A lot of them don’t even keep enemies away while you hack, too. So while I’m fixing the hack, I get hit because they don’t stay nearby. I’ll clear enemies, start the fix, get hit off again, wash, rinse, and repeat. This will happen sometimes up to 4 times on a single hack fix. At that point I just tell them I give up and someone else can do it. Of course, I’ll be right there while they do it, keeping enemies off it.
I just don’t get the point of playing a team game if you’re going to futz about like you’re the only one there. These players have hundreds to thousands of hours in, but can’t figure out that tagging enemies is wildly beneficial to everyone including themselves and that the game won’t progress without fixing the hacker? (obviously not counting the players that just spam pings as helpful, either)
Last update (por) bring one of the biggest troubles on hub dreuko map. In last segment we see the tree and most peoples simply dont know how to play minigame. Because this minigame exist only on this place.
At the very least something in the tutorial would be helpful.
I’d be more welcoming of an unlimited block list, at this point. I’ve come across the same players a lot. They’re playing just as poorly, never tagging, constantly separating, not doing objectives, etc as the first time I’ve seen them. I know I’ve played with them before because I block them on Steam where possible, too. I’ve wasted enough time in multiplayer games with similar aspects (Apex comes to mind) where I just don’t want to see those players ever again.
Or people could just not bind Tag to left-click. I’ve also seen several of those players claim that extra tags on a single enemy equals more damage, which is does not.
I tag a lot but I can’t say I’ve ever been bothered by someone else not tagging. Sure it’s cool if they do it but aurics are a clownshow anyway, expecting much of people is crazy. Wouldn’t want it any other way either, makes the mission more spicy
In my experience, that is not how it goes.
The worse the players, the fewer enemies they tag.
People really like to run off with a boss (which they never tag) and then wonder why nobody is helping them out.
Based on the awareness of about 95% of the players in the auric playlist, it would really help if every single tag-able enemy was tagged for them.
If you ever used brainburst, you probably noticed how terrible the awareness of most players is.
If there are 20 shooters firing at your squad from across the room, i can almost guarantee you, that if you start brainbursting them, someone will snipe almost every single one of your targets (but not shoot anything else), each time about 1,5seconds after you start charging on them.
The reason these players give is „i just shoot at what i see“. Apparently, those players do not see any of the other 19 guys. And they only saw your shiny blue guy 1,5 seconds after he became shiny.
I try and tag as much as I can, but annoyingly on the controller on PC on the setup I use, tag is up on the d-pad. A terrible place!
This would be remedied by allowing us to remap controls. Or I should just use steams ability to remap controls properly. Id be happy to have it on left thumbstick button in tandem with sprint.
Exactly this. I swear a majority of players couldn’t pass the Object Permanence test. As soon as they aren’t facing something, it doesn’t exist in their mind.
Also on the topic of Brain Burst. My God, they specifically target whatever you are Brain Bursting instead of ANY of the 100 other enemies (including other specials) in the room. I’ve asked people not to, and they say “it doesn’t matter.” That 10% waste of Peril says otherwise. I’ve actually stopped bothering with Psyker for a while because of this.
Difficulty does not matter. Players do the same stupid things in Aurics that they do on T1. A level 5 has the same awareness and ability that the average level 30 has.
I bind the tag buttons to the left and right mouse buttons at the same time, so that no matter what I’m doing, I can always tag enemies.
This is very helpful.
Good point. I’d actually totally forgotten about this but I ran over to the handset and was totally baffled on what I was looking at. Had no idea how to do it… Tried then failed then gave up through shear embarrassment. I must have been staring at it for 2 mins whilst the team were killing stuff.
