KNOWN ISSUE: (EAC) Error Code: 30005 (StartService failed with 1275)

Some players are currently being affected by an Easy Anti-Cheat error:

We believe a previous Windows update (KB5044376) to be conflicting with EAC. Other games using EAC have received similar reports, and players have reported uninstalling/rolling back this Windows update to resolve the issue. Though we appreciate in some cases it is not possible to rollback Windows update KB5044376.

We have contacted Easy Anti-Cheat and will work with them to find a resolution. Further updates will be posted here.

Game can not launch, issue related to easy-anti cheat system and the windows security setting “memory integrity”. I haven’t played for 2-3 months but I wanted to go back in to play versus with a friend, but ever since I reinstalled the game on november 12th, i got easy-anti cheat error code; 30005 (startservice failed with 1275) , i have looked online and this seems to be a problem with the memory integrity security setting. I have reinstalled the game and easy anti cheat since then but no luck, and I also tried another game with easy anti cheat (battlefleet gothic armada 2) and it works perfectly fine. Is there a solution?

I also looked at the fatshark “how to resolve anti-cheat errors” https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360007853137--PC-How-to-Resolve-Easy-Anti-Cheat-Errors#h_01GHVDKJ2ZM7VRK1BS3C6A4G1R but I do not see this specific error.

@Karon Sorry to hear this. There are other recent online reports (from other games using EAC) of players encountering this error. From what I can tell, there’s a possible conflcit between a recent Windows update (KB5044376), and the resolution seems to be to uninstall/roll back this Windows update. I recommend to give this a try!

Wanted to report I am also having this issue after purchasing all the DLC and trying to pick the game up again. I’m a couple of updates past KB5044376 already. Can’t start the game at all now with 48 hours on record and no way to perform the rollback mentioned :sweat_smile:

When I try to play the game through the official servers, I get that error. I am however able to play the game through modded servers. I’m using Windows 11 with the latest update. This is from a different game but uses EAC and they’re talking about the exact same issue I’m facing.

Based on the linked thread there seems to be an incompatibility with a recent Windows update and EAC.

You could try reinstalling/repairing EAC, and other solutions here:

Otherwise, reverting the Windows update, or waiting on a further update may be the only way forwards here sadly.

Just wanted to post that i’m having the same issue. Tried reinstalling EAC/repairing the service and no deal.

If you want to go through the process of removing the update to play here is what you need to do;

  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Uninstall a program
  3. View Installed Updates
  4. Uninstall the Update with KB5044376 in it
  5. Restart and let it finish removing.

EAC have now released an update with a potential fix to this issue:

  • Windows 11 Version 24H2 - with client modules released between March 2023 and April 2024, players encounter a launch error when starting the game
