My “Weapon Special Actions” key refuses to be rebound from middle mouse button, no matter what I try. My current workaround is to map a different mouse key to be middle mouse button, and making middle mouse button whatever else. I now have a Darktide profile on my mouse with all these frankly put, dumb keybinds.
Long story short, I’m a left-handed player that uses the ‘I’ key to move forward. However, doing so simply brings up the Inventory once on the player hub, with no option to re-bind the function.
I’ve been using my current bindings for over 12 years, so changing them now for a single game doesn’t feel like a practical option.
Hope this can be resolved. The intro was great, at least.
I am left handed. I use the mouse on the left and keyboard on the right hand. Normally I would change WASD to IJKL for movement and mirror every other keys near it for utility. In this game however, when backing out of Settings after rebinding keys to confirm changes, the game would still default the “I” key to Inventory instead of Move Forward. Upon rechecking, there’s no rebind for Inventory, so “I” key will always be Inventory.
Also experiencing this problem and shifting my controls to other keys makes the game very uncomfortable to play. Also locking one of my mouse buttons to the torch is very unhelpful.
Binding tag to mouse scroll was really useful for scanning hordes. Currently binding it does not work.
The letter ‘i’ can be used for other functions in missions, but when the player is in the Morningstar it will bring up the inventory.
there need to be more keybinds . im using a gaming pad and i dont use I to get into my inventory i use tab for most of my games… please fat shark there needs to be more keybinds that we can change owe selfs…
By default scroll wheel is bound to changing weapons - it’d be made modifiable ASAP.
Also, add alternative shortcut keys.
There needs to be full keybind customization for left handed players. I play IJKL and I is locked to opening the inventory without the ability to rebind it.
I feel like they need a clear keybind so if we dont want a button we can clear it
I also use IJKL for movement, tried going to the next objective after opening inventory for the first time but couldn’t move forward after that, fingers crossed it gets looked at by the devs!
There needs to be a specific keybind for grenades and sighting should not be the RMB, that would be better used to draw and use melee weapons.
Generally more and better keybind options would cover this.
There is. I believe it’s Weapon Special Actions. I have it bound to M4 and it pulls out my grenade.
My wish is that grenade could be removed from the mouse wheel…
Thanks, I’ll have a look, but my issue is the same as yours - I want the grenade on a button not the wheel, as many times I’m trying to quickly go to the melee weapon and wind up on the grenade.
there is (sort of) an answer for not having grenade on wheel. quickswap is a toggle between weapons. it goes back/forth leaving nade out. If you bind quickswap to your wheel up (or down) you effectively get nade off wheel. Then bind nade to a key (which is already there). I say ‘sort of’ as a solution because this way prevents two-way wheel (you have to pick up or down it wont do both), but that doesnt bother me since it is binary and only 2 selections, so I see that as neutral.
What I have done is bound quick wield to pull back on the mouse wheel and next weapon to push forward, not ideal but a usable workaround for me.
Well, the grenade, melee and ranged each has a separate shortcut now in the game.
V2 players usually use quick swap key to switch between guns and swords and push keys for nades and consumables. These shortcuts and now in the game.
What I specifically want is to be able to rebind mouse wheel for other commands as it is locked for now.
I wanted to add down here - it would be nice to able to set keybindings from controller - when plugging in my steam controller (don’t ask why I prefer using it :'D) the “keybindings” option disappears from menu, which just makes adjusting the bindings a bit more difficult.
Also after changing my bindings for dodge and jump to separate bindings on keyboard, it immediately reverted it back after leaving the menu
If I set my Push to Talk button to the T key it does not function.
I can load the game and play the tutorial just fine. I recall rebinding my dodge key to a mouse side button, which itself was rebound as V. That is when the following issues began:
- Regardless of character or setting, my game will crash as soon as I complete the Heavy Attack Chain (the 2nd “phase”) portion of Basic Training.
Okay so I’ll just reset my keybindings, except…
- If I hit Esc to bring up the Main Menu, I can view every single option without a problem EXCEPT “Keybindings”. Doing so briefly shows the keybind screen where it shows all as bound to “n/a” and then crashes about 0.25s later.
I have tried following the “clean reset” instructions including erasing all app data etc, and this obviously has not brought me success.
Please advise.
