KNOWN ISSUE: Backend Error After Skulls Update, Possibly Impacting All GeForce Now Players

Having Backend Error while connection from GeForceNow since today. Load into the game but on the “Press [Spacebar] to continue” it shows the error. Tried connecting a bunch of times with verifying files from the game launcher, issue persists.

Played on GFN just fine yesterday.

Experiencing the same error when using Geforce Now; issue started today (5/23/24).

I got kicked from the endgame screen yesterday evening, and since then, I haven’t been able to log in. Backend Error ever since. I tried logging in from different devices, but I get the same error msg.

Im playing on GeForce Now.

I was also having that issue on GFN enabling IPv6 on the launcher somehow fixed it?

IpV6 didnt fix it for me :frowning:

Also cannot access the game. After it starts up, at the loading screen before character selection I get the Backend Error and cannot continue.

For me, it suddenly works again. (IPV6 enabled, just gonna leave it there)

update 24may: tried again today and issue resolved itself! no DNS change performed.

*UPDATE: Game is functioning as normal for me now. (5/23/24 10PM CST)

Looks like GeForce Now did some work on their end, we can’t take the credit for that :stuck_out_tongue:

If you are continuing to experience this issue as a non-GeForce Now player, please change your DNS:

There are various DNS providers available, and the one you decide to switch to is up to you.

Instructions on how to change your DNS vary slightly depending on your OS and the DNS provider.

Please research DNS providers, choose the one you wish to use, and refer to their instructions.

An example is Cloudflare DNS, and instructions can be seen here: Set up 1.1.1.1 on Windows · Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 docs

Not on Geforce Now. Tried a full reinstall, still had backend error.
Followed steps posted by FatsharkJulia above, issue resolved.

Thanks to all the Fatshark people for working to fix this for us non-Geforce Now users.
