Keeping player counts up with this simple trick

Big updates are great and bring a spike of new and returning players. They are always welcome.

However, to keep the numbers up during dry seasons between big updates, I think introducing new events like the Infected Moebian Platoon, which requires significantly less workload than big updates, would be great.

Imagine having small events such as Infected Moebian modifier every month.

Thanks.

Even better, an event that has auric damnation’s 20% CDR for every mode.
Playing auric damnation potentially can get another 20% CDR on top of that for lots of fun ult spams.

Agreed! I saw the “round-up” post today and got really excited for a sec thinking that a new event dropped…sadly nope!

I don’t think there’s any harm in events running non-stop, like major orders from Helldivers 2. It’s something to do, a bit of variety, and good for anyone looking for materials. Every event doesn’t have to be incredible or super-interesting. Sprinkle in some special events – maybe dole out some aquilas wink wink – and it’d be great.

Actually they should go completely nuts with the modifiers in my opinion. Throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks, instead of brainstorming for the perfect modifier for a month and then abandoning it leaving us with no content whatsoever.

Make any trash they can think of/take players crappy ideas and throw it at us. The ones that dont stick without even 15% of the players go to the bin never to return. The stuff that had at least 20% of player approval stays.
Would be even better to create a poll for each and every modifier in-game, like an optional questionnaire on a terminal near melk (since he’s the data guy).
With simple question :

do you like the “smth smth” modifier?
yes/no

Its so freaking simple and requires minimal work but would be so fun.

I was thinking they should add something similar to the V2 deed system - maybe we can buy specific items with dockets or material/win it from games but those can be used to increase/add new modifiers. Let’s say there’s a maelstrom up right now but I want it to be more difficult. For 50k dockets I can buy an item that I can use as a material to increase the difficulty of the mission.

Adding it into the current mission on the board - the enemies would get 20% attack speed, 5% extra health, extra demon spawn chance, extra boss spawn chance, etc. There is so much potential for what they could do with this game which is one of the reasons its so frustrating watching them squander something when they have all the framework from v2.

Edit: this would also solve the issue of adding in more modifiers. Maybe add in an option on the board for “Join modified mission”. The more modifiers they add, the more spread out the playerbase will be. Right now, 10k concurrent players could handle something like that - before the update, we were averaging 3-4k players and needed every player we could get. With a deed-type system we can avoid hurting the player-base with less division amongst missions. Obviously this needs more time to bake in the oven but it was just a thought I had the other day

This is also a great idea

I was 100% against this idea when i heard it the first time but thinking about it again from a different perspective it might be pretty good. If using resources to unlock more difficulty would also yield more resources, so if i spent 50k dockets to unlock a difficulty i should get 1k more platsteel if we win the mission. Or 1k platsteel for 200 000 dockets. etc etc. So basically a resource exchange system with a twist.

And if they added manual increase and full control of difficulty/modifiers… THIS is what i’d want :

though i extremely doubt i’d happen, but it would be cool.

Quick matchmaking into the same map twice in a row or 2 out of 3 is not a great way to keep players either.
