Future Balancing Pass

While not included in this round of changes (and not the only tweaks considered) these are on our radar for a future balancing pass.

Duelling Swords

We are currently undertaking a comprehensive rework of the weapon, examining every aspect. While a damage reduction is probable, and will likely contribute to the solution, our aim is to bring its power level in line with other weapons while reinforcing its player fantasy and raising its skill ceiling.

Plasma Gun

We recognise that the Plasma Gun’s primary attack presents an issue. This often leads to gameplay revolving around quick attacks, bypassing the intended trade-offs associated with the potent, yet volatile, secondary charged attacks.

Fatshark 'open to conversation' on Dueling Sword

Top post edit; Strawhat replied below (post#95 or so). Fine, lets start (another) conversation. The conversations have been happening for months and they more or less unanimously say the Dueling Sword is an overpowered no-skill joyride of a weapon that trivializes difficult content and invalidates most other melee weapons by existing in its current state. I love the 'tide games because they require SKILL and decision-making; weapons have tradeoffs, strengths, weaknesses, and aren’t mindless to…

This is from March 7, and that’s just the official acknowledgement since the issue has been brought up even before the Duelling Sword has been given to Veteran and Zealot - which is like a year at this point.

Then the problems have finally been acknowledged in March, and now we’re told that three more months of having the Darktide resemble Dear Esther rather than Vermintide or Left 4 Dead is not enough… Okay, so will the next balance pass be in a reasonable time frame, or are we making it half a year now?

EDIT: The comment is towards dev team

Just to make things clear - this comment is towards Darktide dev team and not the community manager, as the entire “open to discussion” thing was brough up before Kitefin took over. So please don’t take my harsh tone personally @FatsharkKitefin.
