Before, on damnations, I used to get ~700 plasteel per run assuming almost exhaustive searching of areas, but now I find it hard to break 600. Is it just me getting this?

I noticed the same thing but I figured it might be a matter of most people having quit the game again for the time being. So the only people left are overwhelmingly people with 2000 hours who don’t really need plasteel and don’t look for it much

people just arent picking it up, i’m constantly noticing people just walk right by it when i saw there character was facing it so there’s no way they didn’t see it so i have to go around the map vacuuming it all

This. I don’t know what the deal is. People just aren’t looking for it at all. Prior to Patch 13 everyone was all over the pasteel hunt.

People are realizing the ‘crafting’ system is rigged so they’re ignoring all aspects of it, is my guess.

I’m sitting at flipping 200k plasteel because I refuse to engage with it anymore… So…it’s hard for me to convince myself to veer off the mission path for that small plasteel in the distance…

When I rarely play I hardly look for craftng materials anymore. I have everything I want and an excess of materials. I’m not going to waste my time playing prop hunt.
Even if they add more weapons I’ll probably roll a couple up and call it quits again, just like Traitor’s Curse.

Still the same as far as I can tell, usually get just shy of 800 but there are 2 of us speedy box openers.
As others pointed out, it’s not unusual to see open boxes with plasteel in it and some don’t even pick up other supplies either even though they need 'em.

a lot of it is console players, who genrally do not check alcoves or backtrack for any reason, so they miss resources and end up with half the possible plasteel missing and their ammo/nades in the red.
i don’t know how to get them to listen to the tutorial. actually i don’t even know that they do use the tutorial.

nobody grabs anything. one of the only scoreboard elements I track is that and I routinely see the other players pick up 100 or less a game each. I also stopped bothering because most of the time you are dredging rooms your team is zipping through the next one. on some modifiers with the new special logic that just means throwing 1/2-2/3s of them your way with your idiot randoms spamming ‘go there’ while you’re dancing with 3 mutants a flamer 2 dogs and the group of bulwarks that walked out of an airlock because you’re behind. Not worth.

I absolutely get you two - but maybe you can consider it part often team effort? You are not collecting for you alone but for the four of you. When you notice no one else is collecting that round you can still stop doing it.

Maybe we are playing two different games. This is a team game? I just got done reading a post about someone bitching about not being able to play solo with bots. Almost every match I get into all I seem to find are solo players. I ping or ask for help and get shamed. I have learned the hard way not to trust teammates and also learn to play solo. Such a vicious cycle.

it is cause people don’t even try to collect plasteel in front of them. So, unless you scout all areas of the map, you will get less plasteel…
unless you team with somebody like me that scout every area…
Anybody the crafting system hasnt wholly and utterly driven away has what they need and has given up on playing for anything other than the love of the game, and those folks are dwindling too.

Some people are drunk, some are high, some are chasing green circles, some are chasing a rush, some are in a hurry, some need to poo, some have poor spatial awareness, and some of us scour the map like tube fiends scooping up every bit of plasteel because it’s a fun minigame.
Different strokes for different folks. I’m 1000hrs in and need more plasteel as I keep trying new weapon types (most recent fav I never gave a shot before are chain axes) across all 4 classes.

I completely understand that. However I only play Darktide with friends that feel the same as I do, so I’m not hurting any randoms in the process.
