Maybe i’ve missed something, it might simply be that i am dumb and missed a patch note.
Have a lot of ogryn melee weapons suddenly got their stagger halved against maniacs?
i played my bully club today in a difficulty 4 just for funsies, i haven’t played this kit in a whiiile but it felt off… i just couldnt stagger for sh*t!
ragers easily kept hitting me while i used heavy hits, i think i recall the weapon performing pretty well before? have i just gone mad? missed a patch note?
this led me to look up some weapons, a lot of weapons, mostly ogryn weapons have their stagger to half the value specifically on maniacs… is it a bug? or just something i missed somehow?
A long time ago (months at this point, sometime after the talent tree patch I think) they increased every enemies stagger resist which basically killed stagger capabilities on most ogryn weapons. The bully club is one example of a wep that got affected very hard by it
Could be this, or are you saying the actual value on the stat sheet halved with this patch?
the value is half the rest of the enemies, lets say avery other type of enemy is 50 stagger, maniacs will be 25.
i changed my skill tree to use the 25%+ impact, haven’t tested yet but i hope that’ll be enough cuz omg if its not, the bully club would actually now be horrible.
on a side note, this kit was made about 5 months ago, used to be pretty good… if something changed, it might be around the arrival of havoc more than skill tree update
Just for the record I dont think it actually does this in effect in live games, only selfhosted seems to apply that. Tripped me up at first too because I played some Havoc to test it out with the solo mod first and it was completely different.
As for maniacs showing half the stagger I wouldn’t be surprised if it was always like that. Maniacs are notoriously stagger resistant
Its the stagger reduction enemies have more than general stagger resistances. Ogryn can catch ragers with just about every club move headshot and stagger them, but if they start attacking only the relentless tag hits (Mk3b L1 and L2 or Mk2 L3 or any sweeping heavy) and a face slap will work work. its worse with the ogryn enemies, after a recovery from stagger you have to wait for that grace period to end to knock them down or use a gun/ult. with how long it takes to kill crushers and bulwarks with these weapons you uniquely have to dodge and space them. what a pointless concept of a weapon.
Meanwhile Branx just throws enemies while 1 or 2 shotting all elites, wonder if we can at least take some of that massive 50+ stagger power. It has way more knockdown power without slam than the shovel or club do with it.
pickaxes are looking fine … anyway they do enough damage to not really care about stagger… but yeah i simple meant like, doing heavy hits in a bunch of ragers just never stopped, stunned, threw them off or nothin, they just kept slashing my face…
idk, i dont recall the bully club being this useless
Many enemies had stagger values changed.
The dreg rager values didn’t seem to have changed though from 1.3+, I could be wrong, I only just threw a quick glance just now.
BUT there may be other stuff in the mix like weapons, class or other underlying mechanics that have changed.
