I am still in Havoc limbo from when you guys changed the promotion system. Ranked up by playing with another host which promoted my Havoc level but did not promote my personal Havoc mission. So I am 6 levels above my own personal Havoc mission which keeps falling further behind and still keeps getting demoted even though my personal rank does not. I can never progress my own personal Havoc rank without joining somebody else who happens to be at the rank I need. PLEASE update player’s personal Havoc missions to match their Havoc rank.
“Clearance Level” is the highest mission you ever completed, this is what everyone else will see for you. This has no impact in what mission You can host (It used to in the past, not anymore, it’s a fully intentional change)
“Assignment Level” on the other hand is the current mission you can host. You can increase it by hosting a mission, or playing anyone else’s mission that has the same or higher Assignment Level (so if the current mission you can host is 35, you’ll need to beat any havoc 35 or higher to increase it)
Depending on the difference of your current Assignment Level and the host you’re playing, you’ll rank up 1 (if the difference is <5), 2 (if the difference >=5 but <10) or 3 levels (if the difference is <=10)
Two weeks later but you’re not understanding what I’m saying. I started playing with a party at Clearance level 25, we played missions that night all the way to 30, and passed every one. But while I got promoted to clearance level 30, my personal mission remained at level 25 and never changed to reflect the work I had just done. If this is an intentional change, what is the point? It just makes me feel like I climbed and did that work with a team, but now I can’t continue my own personal climb because my mission is stuck back on 25. If I want to be able to continue my personal journey from 30 by hosting, I have to play all those levels over again. Why is that an intended change? Why let somebody climb and then stop them from continuing their climb without doing a bunch of extra.
The change is meant to stop players who aren’t skilled enough to reach clearance 40 from being carried up to 40 by 3 friends boosting them for a singular game.
If your assignment is 25 but you won any mission from 25 and upwards, and you didn’t get an assignment increase, then that’s a bug
What I’m feeling it actually happened is that you actually had an assignment lower than 25 , so that when you kept winning it kept being increased to now 25
Try another game from 25 or higher, if you win and your assignment doesn’t go to at least 26, then it’s 100% a bug
That makes literally 0 sense, you could just play your own missions with the same people and get the same result, and nothing is prevented. The original changes were supposed to allow you to earn rank as a party, if the change is literally assuming that every person who plays with a party is getting carried then that’s utterly ridiculous.
I get what you’re saying but that isn’t what happened, this was directly after the update when there was still some wonkiness and the patch hadn’t settled properly. I started that evening session with a group at the exact same clearance level as myself - 25, and that was my personal assignment also. It doesn’t matter, I’m obviously just going to have to find more randos to do all those missions with all over again, since this is apparently “not a bug.”
