I don’t really understand the concerns about a lack of quickplay. If you want to play a Havoc mission at or above your level, and you don’t care about group composition, what’s the difference between pressing a quickplay button and randomly choosing a group in the party finder? A couple of extra clicks? The chance that your invitation will be declined?

What i like is the alt+f4 change. This will change a lot of things.
What I dislike is the fact you can’t leave a game without being punished.
This means that they want that we don’t (can’t?) play with random players. If we can’t, this is a big no for me. And I am not sure the party finder will really convince me…
I don’t know if I will like or hate this game mode. I suppose I have to wait and experiment it… But game modes based on competition, is not something i like.
But the alt+F4 fix is enough for me to wait this patch.
I hate that i’m asking this because this game mode has the potential to create a super toxic environment where if you aren’t a VoC spam bot you will get kicked out of teams
But you guys need to also implement a gear score threshold for Havoc
lvl 30 is not gonna cut it, i see too many people jumping in Auric Maelstrom with some fresh ~300 equipment
Not saying it has to be 500, but there has to be a limit in the realm of the reasonable
And i implore you, this is your last chance to finally nerf the obvious overpowered stuff you have pumped straight into the game’s veins since patch 13, or this game mode will exclusively turn into a meta slaving circle jerk
I’d love to actually ask the guy who pitched Havoc mode: “Why?”
Lets go!
Alt+f4 change is good, I just hope that getting DC’d/crashing is accounted for properly.
I REALLY don’t like the decay system. There’s no reason for it to exist, other than to drive player retention, which is not a good excuse for systems like this. Just remove decay and everyone will like havoc more.
Please add the ability to queue up lower havoc level missions. If I’m playing with a group of 4 friends, I don’t want to be arbitrarily forced into ever higher havoc levels if we want to continue playing at the level we were, or even lower if we just want a lower intensity match.
weird, i’d ask them “nice job, you did great, please keep it up, more challenging content is good!”
Just think for a second what has happened in WoW with the Mythic+ and raider.io situation and you will understand the majority of the perplexities vented here.
And empty. Do not forget empty.
not at all imo, usually real hardcore players are the ones that are welcoming everyone and flexible enough to try out all possible combination with builds in order to win together.
because it will be a game mode focused on cooperation this time.
the ones that usually go mad/toxic are usually the low skilled players thinking they are pro, when aren’t.
Thats not a question. Thats just shouting praise at someone to make yourself feel good.
Bold of you to assume this is “more challenging content”. I’d say its just some repackaged maps with some modifiers. Remains to be seen if anyone even goes near it for more than a month, same as Weaves.
Just to clarify, I am obviously curious to see whether Havoc adds some fun to the game. My question of “Why?” is purely because they could have made anything. The sky is the limit, any mode, any crazy idea they could cook up. But they went with the Weaves template. Thats why I’d ask it.
I don’t know what either of these things are. Care to explain?
honestly i still find players, but i agree it may seem empty, but there is a reason for it.
you need to consider and understand that this type of content, just like havoc, is meant to do with friends/premades. hence why you will never find much people on lobbies in VT2.
in fact it is very popular weaves on discord servers, you will be surprised to know how much active it is actually. and because of the nature of the challenge people often give up and do not bother anymore.
but i agree that from an outside point of view, it may seem it wasn’t received well/not active.
but if you try hard, you will find players willing to help or start weaves.
i often do many times orthus offensive mission just to help new players to get their hard secret mode insignia and same for the normal damnation one soloing sometimes
Ok and are these people getting carried going to match with God Gamers all the time? I guess they only need to be lucky once a week, and then they start decaying, or risking the rank for another lucky 40. This is all assuming they are only playing for the rewards and not for the thrill of extra hard mode. If that were the case then they would naturally grow/drop to the rank most suited for them, right?
Thats not a good thing.
A tiny percentage of a tiny player base is NOT a good design. It should attract players, not scare them off. What kind of fool would actually think “yeah that was a real banger, lets port it to Darktide”???
it will be challenging, it is not an assumption
when you hear from playtesters begging to nerf havoc.
you may wait and check yourself when it will be out, if you can do H40.
Glad this was addressed, was my biggest concern/confusion after the announcement.
Now what will the weekly reward be? Because I feel like people who are able to get to level 40 and stay there probably don’t need a salary of dockets and crafting materials.
why would H40 be required to understand if its good fun?
cause challenging and not a cake walk like in auric maelstorm
Mythic+ are a system in WoW where completing a “rank” of a dungeon gives you the possibility to do another one 1 rank higher.
To avoid sub-par players infesting the highest groups, a sort of “proof of skill” had to be found and could not be gear related simply because one could get lucky with the gear.
Enters raider.io, an external system that kept track of how high a dungeon each player actually completed, so as to have an idea of your level.
Good in theory, in practice it trasformed the game in a “ok sorry you are too low to play everything” toxic fiesta.
Kind of the same thing I am worried will happen here, especially for newcomers.
It is a dead system, it does not matter that a completely parallel system on Discord had to be created to keep the mode alive.
I am part of the Weaves community, went through the slog of doing the full set so I know how painful it was and still is and a new game mode based on “try hard” to find a group is something that is dead in the water from Day1
