Oh. Well I sure hope Havoc 40 lives up to all your dreams, and finally gives you the thrill of hitting the same enemies with the same weapons again. Good luck!
you are comparing it to VT2 where it had issues because people didn’t want to farm essence, since you had to build from scratch and lot of people didn’t have time. meanwhile in DT it won’t be the case luckily which will be more accessible. i still see players time by time doing weaves even the non-ranked ones for fun and people aspiring to do the ranked ones for the challenge.
Sick, they can aspire for another 10 years because aint no increase of bodies gonna come surging in to the mode. Dead in the water as @Cesky said.
I had a great time doing the Twins, back when it was released. Sure am glad I won’t need to try and find groups for that again. I’ll be taking the same approach with havoc, get in while people are doing it for the first time, and then feel bad for everyone afterward.
thanks, i’m sure i will have fun playing it.
hope you will have fun too at least with the new map
forming a group it is up to the players, which often they do through communities, hence why in-game it may look “dead” but it isn’t. because just like havoc it’s content meant to do with premades due to the nature of the difficulty. for anyone who truly did all the 160 ranked weaves in the last season, knows. and also for what i remember doing a ranked weave has no matchmaking and needs to do it prior.
This is a race with no winners.
And the reason why modded VT2 is so active, cause players needed higher difficulty than Cata1, up to DWONS.
Fatshark should have focussed on creating new maps, new enemies, weapons, classes, map modifiers…literally anything was a better idea and would have been better suited to the majority of the players than Weaves 2: 40k Ghetto Edition
Yeah, that was not a wise move from FS but people have farmed worse things (even in DT) and are ready to do so if there’s fun in it.
Instead it was a hassle just to start: you had to have a premade, at your same level of Weave and basically unable to quickplay it in any way, shape or form.
That is why it died.
You need to understand that seeing the odd QP Weave match starting once in a while does not mean that it is a successful mode…
The concern I have regarding this system is when an individual crashes they typically lose control of their character while they are still present in the game world for a few seconds. On high intensity maps on the auric board this typically results in going down mid-disconnect. How will the game determine whether the program closed due to a forced quit vs a crash once the player goes down?
Essentially consider the situation: You are mid horde and crash. In-game your player character walks forward or stands still with no input and you eat 6+ attacks from mobs and go down. Afterwards you are replaced by a bot since the game finally recognizes you disconnected.
In this situation do you respawn with the health you had on the crash or are you now dead and hogtied? If it is the later this will lead to a substantial amount of frustration for the players who crash frequently since not only did you recover from a crash, you are now punished for something out of your control. (In addition to taking time to relaunch the game and reconnect which means you are potentially being placed at a forward respawn location).
And like I said, thats idiotic design, and that further reinforces my initial question that you latched onto. “Why?”.
This game is hardly a beacon of the industry, or a paragon in its class. This entire design was proven unpopular, and claiming it has niche popularity does NOT support its existence. This was folly from inception.
the premade yes, but not the same level of weave in the end if you want to play to unlock weaves. i try to explain what i mean, if someone was starting at ranked 1 weave but someone of the team hosts the 140th weave, the one that never completed it, once will reach 139th, the 140th will be completed automatically cause did before with the team.
but i get what you mean. usually premades starting from scratch together to go higher and higher together. but also lot of people that really like weaves that are still willing to help others. i met so many really. and i also helped many as i could.
if they add modded realm would be cool
but i like also hard challenging content in the official realm.
i think even if we read how on paper it is havoc, it is better to wait when it will be out to understand fully and check how it will go. everything has its own end, in fact not many people either playing orthus offensive. is that dead? nope, cause every now and then people can do it, or you can do it yourself with friends just for fun. if havoc will be not fun, it will because of the challenge, that’s why it is gate kept behind party finder feature. because otherwise pubs will be quickly annoyed by how challenging it is. you don’t have to like the game mode and play the new map and have fun with the new 2h ps and force sword really.
Sounds like Mythic+ for Darktide. I like it.
Thanks for 'splaining!
I suppose we’ll see. I don’t know how it works in WoW, and never really touched Weaves, but the stakes here seem pretty low (potentially losing 1 rank a week). And ranking up seems easy.
If the weekly rewards are worth the effort (hey hey hey aquilas, anybody? ) then I think the mode will have some staying power beyond the need2sweat.
i wish it would be reality about that
not sure if we will ever see aquilas being obtainable in-game but i hope one day!
i feel like if some fellas get bored again from auric damnation, they can always return in havoc to help people also, or just for the challenge in general.
While this would be awesome, as long as it it not at the very end of rewards given and at least obtainable by majority of the people wanting to play Havoc, it could be a good include…but chances are low that Fatshark will let this happen.
Most likely, it’ll give more reasons to use the official discord or perhaps even the lfg forum then the Party Finder though.
Aside from the adjustments to the ALT+F4 abuse (Great change, btw, why did this take 2 years?), Havoc is seeming more and more like a show I don’t want to engage with…
Very cool, now will silent specials, servers dc, crashes be fixed this next update? No? Cool very cool you guys simply don’t understand how many issues your game has and yet intruduces a good fix for alt f4 but forget the root cause that makes people leave.
I don’t want to get anybody’s hopes up (except my own!) because this is all pulled straight out of my karking karker, but Havoc really seems like the ideal place to slot in earnable aquilas.
Since the rewards are weekly, there’s plenty of opportunity to get in and play a couple of matches. And there’s a reliable expectation of how many aquilas can be earned by individuals and overall (which I reckon would be important for FS).
It sounds like there are rewards spread across the levels, and that could very simply just be a scaled amount of aquilas (up to a max at H40). That would mean anyone might be able to squeak out a win and earn a few aquilas. But it also means that dedication to getting better at the game would translate into worthwhile rewards.
And the party finder integration sets the expectation upfront that players have control over their teams, so there’s no threat of quick-playing into a match with tourists. The proposed difficulty could appeal to some of the sweatier population, pushing them to continue helping groups throughout the week on higher Havoc levels. But anyone could benefit from some amount of rewards by just logging in for one or a few games each week.
Be pretty rad!
took the worst part of weaves and decided to do it again, do you guys like creating content that like 1% of your playerbase will play cuz they can’t find groups?
so many examples of this, from when they added tiered dungeons in guild wars to weaves itself. why is that the part of weaves you decided to replicate.
Man i wish you guys just made content instead of a DOA mode, also why would you try to replicate your worst ever received system rather than your most first.
Why the hell did you do weaves again before you did Chaos wastes again.
You’ll never learn you frickin fricks.

Question
I’m confused about how the decay system works for Havoc.
Answer
Yes, let’s clarify the fluid ranking system using the new nomenclature written in the intro of this dev blog. It has changed a bit since the last dev blog after reading feedback.
A player’s Havoc Clearance Level will update on a weekly basis based on the highest Havoc Assignment they completed the previous week (whether it was their own Assignment or played through the Party Finder).
As long as a player is active within the Havoc system during any given week they will not automatically decay at the end of the week. We will however keep an eye on how this system plays out in reality and adjust the rules accordingly.
i would prefer a “seasons ladder” like 2weeks/1 months instead of each week with complete rank reset at the end of the seasons

Answer
The Havoc “Rank” is in fact highest Clearance Level a player has completed and is not directly linked to the current level of that player’s Havoc Assignment. A player’s Havoc Clearance Level will be displayed.
So if a get rank 40the first week like a true darktide chad, and play at lower rank , example rank 12 for the second week, i will not get decay since i did play this week so i will still be rank 40 for the 3rd week ?
anyways thx for all the work has always and hype for the 3 december ^^
Either I get one or two of my online friends who only play on Heresy and try a few Havoc runs or I will never do this. No way in hell will I try some random LFG for a game like Darktide. I knew that stuff in MMOs and I am not about to gamble on either having the one weird run where all may be good enoug but are only there to “get it done”. That feels like a job, not a game. Or get the lfg guys who can’t walk straight.
Really hope the fashion is worth the trouble.

what the actual skill lvl of that player would be.
Unless havoc is easy enough at rank 40 that some scrub can be carried by the other 3 players who (for some reason) choose to take an ankle weight with them, then this is a non-issue. The real issue would then be that rank 40 is too easy. In theory it should be hard enough that you need a cooperating team of 4 skilled players to beat it.

but Havoc really seems like the ideal place to slot in earnable aquilas.
Ideally, as a challenge difficulty, it won’t even serve up plasteel. God emperor please never add something like paid currency farming into the HARD MODE designed for true darktide loonies to test their metal in.
