Introduction to Havoc Game Mode - Dev Blog

With the cap being at 40, does this mean that there will be at least 40 different negative modifiers that you can get as a player? I’d be cautious to add any negative modifiers that impact anything related to movement and to an extent attack speed, while I can’t speak for everyone, I just get the feeling that people will find those specific modifiers more annoying than fun and engaging.

Will there be a way to see what the current havoc rank of a player is? with rewards on the line for mission completion, I just get the feeling that people not ready for the latter half of havoc ranks will just try and join as many high ranking parties they can looking to get carried through it.

I don’t understand how match making is going to work with this. There is no quickplay, but you can just queue into it? what does that mean for match making? it will try to find 3 other players who are close to your ‘level’?

Looks like a fun challenges, hopefully those aren’t time based.

hoards only function correctly one room in every 60 games while elites work correctly every other 10 :sob:

Considering that mission conditions vary between players, i guess that you either get to play private (solo or premade) or with a party finder group.
The player starting the mission, will determine the conditions.

I hope that’s not the case as it would be a hassle to have to do party finding every time I want to hop on to play a game. Ideally I just want to be quickly matched with pub randos close to my skill level.

You will have to make premades, or use the party finder.

Glad to see the addition of new content to play with, but the questions I would like answered are: Where are you guys with creating news weapons and/or archetypes? And when could we potentially sign up for playtesting those? One of the reasons I love VT2 so much was the additions of new weapons alongside DLCs, my personal favorite being the fire Flail for Sienna.

I have a feeling this will cause a lot of salt. I would suggest instead that you get a limit of 3 attempts to complete it to move up a rank, but then unlimited attempts to complete it to maintain your rank. Only if you haven’t beaten it by the end of the week would you then be demoted one rank.

The way I read that is the literal Quickplay button that gives you extra % resources for using it, it wouldnt be good if people are expecting a regular mission and get dumped into some crazy havoc mission. Would be nice to get some clarity on that strawhat.

Really I don’t see why regular match making can’t be used for Havoc though. Choose the Havoc missions button, have it automatically pick 3 others close to your level, have it so it doesn’t dump you in mid mission, choose your load-out in the lobby screen. Bing bang job done.

How could regular mm possibly work, if each player has different mission modifiers?
There can not be “regular mm” because those are not mission board missions that are the same for each player.

It is explicitly stated in the above citation, that they do not want qp for this, because of varying mutators and missions.
So picking a mission and then getting some random teammate’s modifiers on the mission, would result in the exact same issue that they explained for QP.

Errr, just pick one of the players in the lobby at random to be ‘host’ and use their mutators…? You seem to be making a mountain out of a molehill here.

No,. I just read the op and consider the information given.

Again… then you get the exact issues mentioned here:

…Why is this a problem…? We have load outs for both talents and weapons. You, uh, are aware you can change them in the lobby screen right? You don’t have to be in the hub to change them…

Then there should be no issue with quickplay either. But according to the OP, there is. Due to the reasons listed in the citation that i referred to multiple times.

No need to talk to me, as if i am dumb, when i am in fact considering the information given, while you are ignoring it.

This is terrible and will foster even more toxicity between players.

This basically invalidates havoc rank, since you can be carried. This is worthless auric storm survivor all over again.

Not gonna lie this entire thing feels like a giant monkey paw. Instead of map selection and custom modifiers we get RNG modifiers on mala fatshark picks.

Instead of 21st horde modifiers returning to regular gameplay we get it locked behind weaves 1.5. And instead of new unlockable cosmetics we get a possible recolor of an existing trashy armor?

The monkey paw curls yet again as usual

Weaves problem was in maps, or should i say in castrated small chunks of maps. If Weaves were modifying regular maps it would be nice mode.

Also no public beta test for such thing can be a huge mistake.

Sounds interesting, but here are some dumb questions.
First and foremost, why to access the most difficult content is enough only level 30 and passing at least 1 deadly mission? Well, it’s not serious, at least 10 successful death missions should be on the score (completed achievement). After all, will go people who play completely unlike the complexity …
Here every week I keep the maximum rank, and, reward or reward except I’m good?
Why promotion and relegation once a week, can not do online? How many weeks does it take to max out a difficulty?
PF - even with this innovation taken into account it won’t work like this, if you can select a mission and click play - why should I waste time finding players that way? In a month since release I’ve only seen an active search group 1 time (25.09).

Why if you pass level 21 players 1-4-20-17 then all will be on 21 in the end, the logic is there, but ie you have someone who really spent time, tried and sweated 20 levels (who really deserved this level), and someone first immediately skipped and no necessary experience is not taken out. What’s the point of a level system if you only need 1 victory with players of maximum level. It seems to me there should be elite players that with their level will inspire respect, and not the other way round questions how they got it.

Rewards, resources and skill level - I have nowhere to spend them and everything was pumped long ago((((( yes again the whining of rich people, someone really needs it. But there will be more and more like me, because pumping and collecting builds is cheaper a hundred times.

This. I can’t imagine how many bugs there’ll be. The QA has been notoriously bad so far.
