But it would be really great if it wasn’t so visually obtrusive. I find it hard to see what’s in front of me when using it at times, and I find it difficult to see much of anything when someone else is spamming it. Wouldn’t it be better if the right-click was a narrower horizontal lick ? And wouldn’t it be better if the flammenwerfer left click was more discreet and less bright? Hell, I would settle for a Witcher 3-style Firestream Igni (sparks that light enemies on fire).
TL;DR too bright. Option for less bright would be good.
The “bright” isn’t the problem I have with it, the problem is that when it’s anyone other than yourself using them (or anything that creates large numbers of particle effects) it tanks the framerate for other players.
Played a session yesterday where a single Psyker with a purgatus managed to tank my framerate into the ground.
I don’t know why the game seems to work like that, I’ve played with the purgatus on my Psyker and it doesn’t lag me one bit, but the moment it’s another player it wreaks havoc.
Disable “bloom” effect in graphics if you haven’t already, makes a huge difference for how much it obscures vision. Also try reducing the “VFX” intensity in interface options.
I do wonder at times what this game looks like if you’re just killing your system with graphical fidelity, then I’m reminded that I actually like both seeing my screen and burning everything alive so I continue to leave everything on very low and have high frames XD
I’d probably drop ‘generated lighting’ or things similar, fire would demolish frames with them on generating so much lighting and shadows all of the sudden. Other than that, just drop other effects or as shown already, download a mod if you don’t play Psyker and just don’t want to see it xD.
