Yeah no kidding. More time to work on them? They look to be of the same quality as all the others - and as @MarxistDictator pointed out, they include some re-used assets anyway so what does that mean. This is 100% just a price gouge because it was by far the #1 requested skin (they even had a poll on the discord for it) and they know people will shell out whatever for it.
And yeah, 2900 for just the 3 articles of clothing is nuts. I would have expected updated weapon skins (esp. shovels for vet & oggy) and a trinket or something.
At this point it’s pretty clear this is a domain where Fatshark will not be listening to feedback on. People were already saying the cosmetics were very expensive, and here they are making it more expensive. All I can really say at this point is if they want to keep these disgusting Gatcha mechanics for their cosmetics, future content better be included. If they start charging for DLC on top of these overpriced, scum tactic cosmetics then there’s a much more real problem.
Something else I noticed, is that both the Vet & Ogryn have a variation of the Krieg mask.
These variations, seem to me, objectively cooler. Like I’m sure it’s all personal taste and I’m willing to admit I’m wrong, but they just seem way better/visually interesting.
But these variations aren’t part of the bundle. If I wanted to get the coat, pants, and these masks, I’m spending more Aquilla than I would for the bundle. This to me, just again is strategically a way to influence people to spend more money.
There were previous cosmetics that included 2 variations for hats. If this bundle is 2,900 aquila compared to the usual 2,100, why couldn’t these variations also be included? (Oh wait, hold on, I think I know this one)
Thankfully I had enough leftover Aquilas sitting in my account to swipe just the Ogryn helm, it is glorious and yes absolutely. Its like seeing a GW premium minature set pricing in game, lmao. You need 2900 for your Krieg uniform, 1400 for a proper helmet and then another 400 for the shovel. Setting you back 4700 for Krieg larping in a coop game…
Meanwhile our golden boy Steel Legion set had 6 (!) items in it for 2400…
Those aren’t even all the Krieg skins. Each class has their own set, each 2900Aq, AND there are a few extra bits like alternate helmets and weapon skins (1400 and 400 respectively). So if you’re a hardcore completionist Krieg head you’re looking at a total of 12,000Aq for all of it, which would work out to around $40-$50USD depending on how you split up the bundles.
You literally have to pay equal to or more than the full price of the game to get all of the Krieger content.
Yep. I also saw a bunch of photos on the reddit that shows a huge variety of literally re-used assets, as well as yet more constant clipping issues.
They basically straight up are lying/fibbing that the price increase is due to how much more time it took to make them. They literally re-used assets and what, expected we wouldn’t notice?
Gotta love how Community managers come in to congratulate defenders yet not say one peep about how there is massive backlash on the pricing. Nice managing right there.
That’s good managing.
It’s Corporate Communications 101 that you don’t engage with negative minded people. Reason being, it doesn’t matter what you say - If their perception is hostile, there is little you can do to salvage. It will be taken up as insult or dishonest.
Same goes for communication between two businesses where relations have soured or other institutions. Or when something is worthy of critic - You don’t. You just gloss over it and move on if you want to continue relations -or- you break relations off and don’t mention it.
Addressing negative feedback or giving it is one of the rarest things when companies communicate, it means there is a level of trust given. As weird or paradoxical as it may sound.
I know there’s another thread about it, but figured I’d share here too. To add insult to injury, Xbox players apparently get 14,000 aquilla now vs the 2,500 we got.
Honestly I was starting to feel more positive about the game with the latest patch. But this constant nickel-and-diming + exploitative FOMO stuff has made me reluctant to even engage with the cosmetics system. Not to mention the shafting of the Steam players now that Xbox players get an extra $70 or more worth of funbucks for nothing.
I’ll just wear the base rags for all my characters from now on I guess in a sort of weird protest. Maybe the Beta helmet too if I feel like looking extra stupid.
