I'm starting to loose hope here

no not really darktide and helldivers are both sci fy hoard shooters but thats where the similarities end. For one yes there are balance issues in helldivers but 1 it’s not even two months old yet and 2 they’re tweaking balance on a weekly basis trying to find a balance both they and the players will like fatshark has had years to do the same thing and the game was broken and unbalanced until the talent tree was added on a fundamental lvl. RN in helldivers the devs are experimenting a little bit there’s a big difference.

also in helldivers death is a game mechanic not a game over meaning that the balance of the games combat flow is of course going to be incredibly different because what’s game over in darktide is penalty in helldivers. You are supposed to die multiple times a mission by design they may have overdone it a bit with the patch everyone lost their crap over but it’s fundamentally different we needed the combat tree in darktide just to balance the entire game in the first place with helldivers they took a different and more forgiving approach to death in many ways which is part of why the game doesn’t need combat tree’s with it’s design in order to play darktide did it was broken.

also complaining about stated armor in their game is ridiculous when you factor in curios especially since each armor effect has multiple models of armor that you can both buy and earn 100% for free with the same effects and stats not to mention to get your goodies they don’t make you do 500 re rolls for a god weapon and call that end game content. Also I wasn’t comparing the two games RPG elements and never claimed to I was if you re read comparing the difference in content update so either on accident or by design you were putting words in my mouth.

at least the helldiver devs listen and care about their player base it’s better than the flat out ignoring us like fatshark.

um did you miss my entire point or even read my post? Thats the problem the desparity between these two companies in resources and the sheer volume of content and changes the one at a diss advantage has over the one with big money and massive manpower. It’s like having America being outproduced in guns by Ireland. The problem IS THE WAITING it takes a year at a time for us to get a scrap of content here. I don’t need massive content drops every month but we need more than a single boss fight or a new map more than once a year or this game is going to die faster and faster as more time passes

Also when they gave us the Karnak twins it was a lot of recycled assets. If you pay attention, they were lazy as frick with it every single section of the map except the boss chamber and the first gas room every single hallway passage and corridor was sliced out of another pre existing level and socketed into a fitting spot. Other than the voice lines the twins themselves and two rooms the whole update was recycled assets if this was a go fund me they’d call the level an asset flip so even their “Updates” Are getting lazier.

Edit and repost: Site lagged and messed up my first attempt at reply

they refused to do it because the more they opened the door for sonny and microsoft the more say those companies would have in messing up their game too sell solutions to invented problems. Yes servers would probably be more stable but monetization would be criminal instead since they took a chance the monetization is fair and further the devs are respectful except for two troublemakers who have already been reprimanded and removed from public interaction with the fan base in less than a week.

they only released a single mech because even though they are ready they are adding them in a way that evolves the narrative of the game. What would you prefer an update that just drops toys into your lap or an update that’s a slow burn building on the game and the world making it feel more meaningful and alive a new battle pass comes out day after tomorrow with over a dozen new weapons and more armors too there’s at least anther 4 vehicles on the way soon based on leaks and data mining.

we weren’t just handed a new toy and told have fun we had to fight a planetary campaigne and as a community beat back the robot menace to earn them or we would have been forced to wait for our new toys. WE EARNED THEM WE WON THEM AS SPOILS OF WAR! Fatshark was just oh here’s a few new weapons with most of them being nearly identical to existing ones with a couple tweaks with their secondary ability and an asset flip boss fight with two new levels in over a year of waiting for any content that felt fresh or fun.

The same cannot be said about fatshark in any capacity. Not to mention how lazy do devs have to be to not even be able to add a predatory battle pass at least once a year. If you’re going to try and make as much money as possible while being as lazy as possible, you’d think that was the bare minimum they would give us I mean ffs I don’t even like battle passes but at least it would be content even the paid cosmetics barely ever get updated. The whole game feels like it’s on life support already. Helldivers is new and finding it’s footing but the experience it gave me after two weeks compared to darktide left me feeling sad and disappointed about this game I still do love.

My point was really just that it’s Fatshark. That’s the expectations you should have for Fatshark dev process, because they have been known for this for more than a decade. They’re not gonna change, and nobody really knows why their dev process is like this, other than probably management issues

I feel like they cant win sometimes. Are they Lazy for NOT adding a battlepass now? I dont think the devs are lazy. Actually Im not going to assume anything about them other than: they update sporadically.

Im very happy they dont have a battlepass.

Halo Infinite is pretty terrible, but both Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves have cosmetic monetization systems that are leaps and bounds better than Darktide. They also both have a ton of cosmetics to unlock by playing the game; far more than paid skins. Darktide can’t say the same.

Ahh, sweet old blackmailing.
“Nooo, don’t lose hope! Here is some content!”

They obviously are working on some big DLC right now.
And don’t promise anything because expectations ruin everything.

Just forget about Darktide. When DLC is out you will get your pleasure back. Hopefully.

Release DT had 25 “talents” to choose from for each class, 5 of which could be active at any one time.
Now Darktide has a more “points” to spend, but trees are full of sink nodes and must-take/never-take nodes. A ton of the “choice” in Darktide is illusory, and much of it entirely focused on making a specific type of weapon work.

When you play an HD2 game, you can drop in with one set of gear and stratagems, end the match a different set of abilities. I can drop in and call myself a laser-carrying drone and an HMG to wield, and end the match using someone else’s Jetpack and Rocket Launcher. I can play one mission dropping automated turrets and mines everywhere, and another focusing on resupplying the team and being a heavy weapon specialist. You can configure your character for a far wider variety of roles and capabilities than you can in Darktide.

Yeah, you can micromanage some of the details of those DT options much more, you can fiddle with +Rending or +Cleave and whatnot on weapons, or if 30% Quell speed reduction is worth a talent point over +20% damage depending on Peril, you can tune and play with the details a lot more, but in terms of clearly defining a role for the player and offering meaningful gameplay choices, I don’t see where DT is so much better in terms of RPG elements unless one is defining that to mean fiddling with minutae and direct numbers manipulation.
