Im extremely disappointed with Hive Scum because

Well, the way I see it, we’ll get major a rework to current enemies once we get new enemies (not just one but an entire new faction). I base that belief on that time when the Arbites was added and the combat shotguns, that were already in the game, got a touch up to match the power of the new shotgun.

And of course we can’t forget that the devs are not yet finished with reworking the classes/enemies since in Bound by Duty they said this under the HP buffs to Scab enemies:

Is that really the case? I don’t believe that playing with the Solo Play mod is equal in difficulty to the real game. In the actual game everything feels more difficult; I’m not saying there are more enemies in terms of quantity or quality, but they seem to appear in a completely different way than in Solo Play — much less favorable for the player. Off-timing, when the player is less prepared, catching you off guard. In Solo Play I don’t even recall regular trash mobs spawning directly behind me (bonus points: during a weapon reload), whereas in the real game that’s absolutely normal.

Still, I’d appreciate it if you could recommend some YouTube channels with similar solo runs. I’d like to see how players handle tasks like carrying objects, hacking terminals, and similar challenges when playing alone.

And I agree, which is why my point entirely is to limit all the “plays-the-game-for-you”-type and power-crept-type talents, abilities, weapons, talents etc., in builds so you’re forced to actually interact with the game, I’ve been doing it for a long time with my builds and I’ve still been having a lot of fun. My opinions on the current p*ss-poor “joke” we call “game balance” aren’t a secret and the same sentiments are echoed all over the forums; avoiding most of the problematic things when making builds can still be done a lot of the time. We shouldn’t really have to “gimp” ourselves to maximise fun, but that leads me onto my next point:

The main reason I bring it up here though, is that based off past trends, FS will continue to see the “Auric is a snooze fest” and continue to think “hmmmm… more hyperdense stealth crushers will fix the boredom! Perhaps some silent hyperdense disablers for a side? O-ho, what if we have a reaper patrol spawn silently 2 rooms behind them with an open sightline so they instantly aggro through a broken sound queue system? A most devilish dessert! Complain about the 'snooze fest now!;” etc., just proceeding to break the game more and more with even further enemy spam  Or even just buffing crusher health again, leaving even more weapons in most people’s “why would I bring this lmao” pile, that sort of thing, and it worries me.

I wish it wasn’t like that, but it is what it is :person_shrugging:

I’ve no doubt that eventually that’ll come, but I’ve been a fan of FS for a long time now. I love the devs; I love the products they (eventually) make; I do not trust them to do anything in a timely manner.

In this context, even though so far it seems Hive Scum are a big step in the right direction (it actually requires the ability to play the game :open_mouth: ), regarding power creep and it’s knock-on effects, I still don’t think the overall good changes will be here any time soon. I am praying that the dev’s prove me wrong on that front.

I am holding on to what the Game Design Director has said in the Jeficus interview. He said that they won’t make a new Warhammer Tide game in the foreseeable future because: "They are still working on Vermintide 2, and they are also currently knee-deep in DarkTide”.

Please Emperor, let it be a sign that they are actually shifting their resources to DarkTide and that 2026 will see this game become so much better than what is is now. :folded_hands:

Stealth - everything I ever found was stealth

Auric is a snooze fest because if any of my teammates decide to play psyker, I have to run ahead of them just to play the video game. Either that or quit the match and reroll. civi maelstrom is genuinely unplayable.

True, even if I’m trying to avoid the meta and experiment to have fun, there is always that one Psyker with a flame staff killing everything and everyone before I can even see if my build works well. It sucks.

Unfortunate when that happens. Take it from me, I went from Psyker main to Psyker hater well over a year ago as the buffs started rolling in, and I wouldn’t be surprised if FS keep doubling down :skull:

It’s an even better feeling when you leave them in the dust on the scoreboard though

All I’m saying is, state of Psyker over the last ~18 months, maybe the Black Ships have the right ideas :person_shrugging:

Assuming you mean Heresy on Darktide, no I dont see 7 crushers, bulwarks or reapers on a regular basis. Sometimes you do depending on the modifier but if we are talking Hi-int or Mael, thats a step up and should be compared to V2.

Patrols are not really an issue on Legendary in Vermintide 2. All weapons are effective on them if you headshot, some classes can wipe them pretty quick, much like in Darktide. There is not a crazy amount of difference. Check these two games out, one on Legend, one on Heresy:

They are quite comparable. Same amount of enemies or not such a difference that I really notice. Crushers die much like Chaos Warriors. One big difference is having two factions in V2 so sometimes you wont see many CW and sometimes you see loads. Much like Vanilla Heresy on Darktide. Sometimes the director just wants you dead and some games are near empty.

I do agree that Id like them to be more dangerous and spam less but again, on vanilla games, not Hi-Int or Maels, you really dont see a huge swathe of Crushers etc. On Cata Onslaught+3 games the spam is insane:

Iv yet to be convinced that the gulf is as wide as anyone says.

This. Players should ask themselves if they want a challenge or just waltz through a map.

I don’t think there are some magical spawns when you play on regular server, it’s just that there are 3 teammates and enemies are switching targets.

I don’t think there are any dedicated true solo channels, i only record few a year to shitpost about duelling sword balance.

Would you still what this if they extremely nerfed all the damage on the D/sword first?

Perhaps, but not by Fatshark.

I very much agree with this take, but I dont think they suck as much as its just really mid, other than medkit/tox nade meta.

Except for in havoc, which is where the lion’s share of difficulty belongs.

That’s an interesting take, elaborate plz.

Damnation was the hardest. Then Auric was made for the sweats. Basically Heresy and Damnation, but turned up to 11.

Then the power creep was introduced. Busted meta builds settled and as a result Auric became too easy.

Instead of adjusting balance and the outliers, Havoc was introduced.

Then people saw that as the new target to clear instead of the mode for the top 1% players and now we’re in a situation where people expect classes to be balanced for Havoc and completely trivializing any of the regular difficulties.

It’s a vicious circle and FS is entrenching themselves in it.

What it all boils down to.

Remember those dodgy “Just say no!” adverts from way back when?

Maybe we should make a few
