Simple reasoning being that quickplay would be full of people leaving when they die. I’d hate for Chaos Wastes mechanics to be diluted into simplistic Mortis-Trials-Style “You get what you get” just to accomodate for the kinds of players that make every mission a revolving door. I’m not sure there’s any solution to this other than what’s suggested in the title.
Just to be clear, I just hope there’s no quickplay like Havoc to combat leaver culture, there shouldn’t be any rank mechanics.
Yeah I hope they have something to address this. In VT2, backfilling a lobby that is like 3/4 the way done means you miss out on a ton of boons, coins and weapon upgrades. Also the steep decline in quality of bots between the games would probably make playing with leavers more frustrating.
Total sniveltalk and heresy of the highest order! I have notified the inquisition and they are gonna need the heavy flamer to burn away this horrid take.
Because Darktide’s inclusion of the party finder is garbageand contradicts how all of the other modes, including Mortis Trials, are played - plug and play.
I’m no longer 15 years old, and I don’t have all day free to wait for an invitation to run Molten Core.
@Jado For what it’s worth, you’re conflating the elitist Havoc culture necessiated by the actual difficulty from higher ranks and de-ranking with the partyfinder itself.
Partyfinder could simply act as a lobby browser for anything without deranking. Lobby browsers never hurt anyone.
My central point is that quickplay would result in never finishing a chaos wastes run with the 3 people you started with. Which Fatshark is most likely aware of and would probably dumb down the gamemode for. Which is ultimately a horrid outcome.
All speculation but I just wanted to put it out there.
No idea how the hell I managed to reply to myself here but thats kinda funny
I get what you’re saying, and I agree that the Party Finder would be much better and more accepting if there was no fear of demotion.
However, it still serves as an additional screen that you have to interact before proceeding to the game.
Back in Halo 1 or more modern; Deep Rock Galactic, etc., lobby matchmaking didn’t/doesn’t really matter to me because you could just join any free game, and some of the lobbies had fun modifiers or mods or were specifically only on one specific map, which gives fun gaming experience for the players.
However, in Darktide, there is no option for hosting private games with your own modifiers, so it isn’t interesting for me, also; the fact that the mod that allows you to queue for games without loading into the Mourningstar is one of the most popular on Nexus.
And the main reason I dislike Havoc is that the modifiers aren’t fun.
It’s just Auric Maelstrom, but with the spam dialed up to 11, like constant walls aof Rotten Armor, healing enemies, or stagger immune Stimming enemies.
So fuuuuuuun
It’s just a lousy game mode, and Fatshark lacks the expertise and resources to host a seasonal game.
I’m reading Jado’s comment as agreeing with me, but for Murderer
But they used to do such (hell even the worst being that the host would oft leave when downed).
There is a more “stable” community now that doesn’t, but it wasn’t always like that.
And not having open/pub play also mean that you have a lot of people that find it a chore to play it. Havoc is understandable at least (if barely), but Mortis should also have some form of Pub, even if only being able to join before wave X (Noting that Fortune of War was party finder only)
Can’t say I ever found people to leave VT2 as much as in DT ever. Especially not in CW. At most you occasionally had a salty host kill the fun but that’s how it goes in P2P games.
I’d go as far as to say for every leaver in VT2 there are probably 10-20 in DT. Hell I’ve had over 10 leavers in one mission. It’s really common to beat a game with 3 different people than you started with.
nah, I think most people are much much weaker than even that and NEED the safest option everytime.
auric maelstroms still get lost on occasion and no one even cares if people are “there”, some bots join so be it.
either the clutch is great or the match is lost, so what.
the only reason i bother with darktide as a multiplayer game is not having to interact with randos other than by gameplay.
I. Dont. Apply
pure and simple.
as soon as someone comes moaning “but WE need x y z”, shut it. “WE” need nothing cause there is no “WE” in the first place.
I click play with the character I specced and like to play with, THATS IT.
space marine 2 solved it pretty good in my opinion
“buuuut tactical is MY class”
what’s that squealing sound? “you” don’t even exist, “you” replace a bot and if the bot gives me less bitchin, either bot or solo it is then
it pisses me off so much seeing a potentially interesting mode paired with having to deal with the delusional thoughts of others when so far one could freely chose what to play without a care in the world who was present.
