I would love some more armored elites to fight

When we had that Ogryn Rampage modifier event, it was incredibly fun but seeing the same armored units over and over got me thinking that there should be more armored variants to fight. When I say more I mean more variety so it’s not the same Crusher and Bullwark. I’m not saying to overload Maelstroms and Auric damnations with elite but crushers or bullwarks with new variants with new movesets, etc.

Agree, more enemy variants would be nice.

I would like Darktide to lean into the filth aspect. Such as a flesh layer of puss you have to cut through before dealing damage.

Of course! How else would the Moebian 6th be paying for entire platoons that are comprised solely of Hot-shot Volley Gunners? :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

I would like a map modifier where 100% Crusher spawns.

I believe the Ogryns are all Scab units, which leaves a massive gap in the roster for 3 Dreg Ogryn equivalents. Plague Bearers could work, since we’re already fighting Burgles. We also need a Dreg Mauler, then we could have Dreg Melee Only as a modifier. Not to mention we need more “Infested” typed enemies.

I also wouldn’t mind a “Unarmored Ogryn”, like an Ogryn Rager. Perhaps that could be a Dreg version of the bulwark, trading in the defense of a shield for more aggression and maybe a bull rush ability. Something for unyielding-focused weapons to easily bite into that isn’t a boss.

But if they really wanted a freebie, they could have Ogryn enemies sometimes spawn with/without helmets. I believe there was already groundwork laid for modular armor, but I guess they have their reasons for not doing it. I mean, I already confuse bulwarks for my Ogryn Teammates from time to time.

Been clamoring for an “Oops All Ogryns” modifier since release.

how far “nurgle” could we lorewise go at this point?

i’m to little of knowledge still and right now the “rule of cool” still gives me these ideas that every lesser nurgle demon with unique armor and “snot-plate” or whatever boney mutation as green-carapace could be a viable addition to the flow of the game.

is there a more rigid set of mutantions when compared to tyranids that go “whatever” every time they need to bolster their ranks?

some plague bearer-light with stubby armored limbs maybe?

The 40k fandom rapidly oscillates between “The lore is flexible enough that almost anything’s possible as long as the vibe’s right” and “If it doesn’t have established precedence with at least six supporting citations it’s heresy that goes against the great word of James Workshop.”

But I’m firmly in the former group. I mean, we’re fighting burgles here, and we’re definitely not reintegrating into imperial society after this, may as well go whole hog.

Champions of Nurgle - could be like blessed maulers, have their guts dragging around and be slower but tankier, hit like an even bigger truck, etc.

I remember that old tweet about “on the prowl” or something like that where it kinda looked like a new model and we thought it was a new unit tease (but it turned out to be just an old model and a nothing-burger) and my group was hoping for a new special kind of like the beastman wargors/bannermen that would be a scab sergeant. He’d have armor, bolt pistol, and power sword (no shield though) and buff the surrounding troops (or at least the scabs if you have a dreg priest equivalent) and be a nasty little mini-fight. Shame it was just nothing instead. Really need to learn to temper my imagination around the Tide franchise.

Then there’s any number of sorcerers or enemy psykers that could have psychic shields or the like.

Still lots of potential. Probably always will be.
