the rng of it can be easily tweaked
new penances? don’t care
cosmetics? i like the ones i already have, don’t care
new modifiers? with what reward? an insignia? materials? don’t care
new maps? guess they’re pretty cool. what do i get at the end? same sh*t as always? don’t care
new classes? new weapons, nice. they’re exclusive to the class? omg
i do come back to play this game for a few hundred hours once a year
the game is good and fun, i will still play this game if fatshark decides to never add reds
but can i have reds?

Green in Darktide = Green in Vermintide
Blue in Darktide = Blue in Vermintide
Purple in Darktide = Gold in Vermintide
Gold in Darktide = Red in Vermintide
This game has enough balance problems already without throwing yet ANOTHER sweeping buff to Players into the mix.
I think part of it is the prestige factor, of having a cool looking weapon that is rare and can’t be bought. I loved how they looked in VT2 and it was something to work towards.
That, and the other half of the issue is that we still have the weird 80/60 split for weapons. Its just super wierd and makes me wonder what happened to the other 20/40 lol.
Red just looks cool. Of course, if they’re going to offer 100% stats on weapons with it, then probably should buff all enemies to compensate.
Honestly, I kinda wish they’d cut the clutter and number of enemies spawn down to about 50% of whatever it currently is for all game modes, then buff everything accordingly. Faster / more frequent strikes from elites and enemies maybe instead of simply buffing health and damage. Vermintide 2 has the balance just about right, but Darktide is just swarms of wimps and then special spam to overwhelm you.
I could see a case for “Uniques” that have red text, unique skins, and “perfect” (in the context of darktide) stats but they can’t be modified in any way. Have one or two for each weapon type and mark and call it a day. Everyone with a “Bonesaw Eviscerator” will have the exact same “Bonesaw Eviscerator”
I would support “Red” idea if FS took an idea from SM2 book with Heroics.
Imagine Catachen with a fixed blessing that gives it bleed stacks on weakspot hit, you can still change perks and 1 blessing. But it has by default a new Blessing or even perk that opens OPTIONS for the weapon.
Or a combat Knife with stacks of Chem toxin instead of Bleed for Hive scum.
Or a Lasgun that will shoot in 2 “round” bursts instead of a single shot etc…
No one cares about the gold that you have to 100x times buy the gray version and the sink “resources to it” just to make it gold anyway. Which only exists to justify the existence of plasteel and Diamanteen….
Red or Heroic or Unique weapons that will OPEN for these weapons new playstyle options.
What about Expeditions mode, where you have to pull a haist into the Heretic stronghold to steal corrupted weapons that would turn into REDs after cleansing rites…
That would be a cool update , promoting build variety and making less-used weapons viable (sure FS could just change blessings and make most weapons good or OK but I guess lore reasons…).
I was just thinking if this happen, then need to have a higher difficulty to match the red weapon, maybe havoc 50-60, like cata in v2 match lvl35, and for low difficulty, it should be simpler, just like v2 using a red weapon to play in lowest difficulty
