I feel you. Fatshark dedicated all of these resources towards Havoc just to make it worse than Weaves. They chose to completely ignore all of the community feedback on Havoc’s pain points. They managed to make WEAVES look good in comparison with this blunder. I personally want Havoc to succeed but Fatshark are screwing it up left and right. I pray for Havoc not to develop into a gangrenous limb requiring amputation, but that is all I can do. This is a bad omen for Mortis Trials.
Guy in charge of FS decision making explaining why yes, in fact, trying weaves but better this time was a good allocation of resources.

I dont understand… if u dont want to play havoc - dont play it. If u want play havoc - play it.
I dont see difficulties
remove the ranks, remove the demotions, remove party finder and add quick play and you have a deal.
actually no you’re right remove havoc and add custom games that can be modified to be anything from sedition to havoc with any modifiers (ammo, wounds, density etc…)
ye, pretty much like VT2 weaves, just ignore them, they didn’t kill the game for me (not as much as the beast men dlc release at least)
i think they did a better job this time around though, i think FS is learning
by being around since vermintide 1 i can see how they have improved during this time
its a shame that they havn’t brought back last stand mode, i’d really love to see it here
Mostly it’s that the Dev’s keep missing (seemingly intentionally) the issues people have with the mode, and keep devoting significant resources to and and making it a highlight of their new release, while the proportion of the playerbase engaging in this mode is so small that at best you’ll have a few dozen people playing worldwide at any given time.
Fun and Havoc: I like to play in random, and often see people at level 40 who do complete nonsense, example - yesterday played Havoc, Zealot (level 40 Havoc) with a lack of 20% hp from 100% (everyone else has full hp) throws on the ground medpack, and my fun level went into the stratosphere. And then the captain comes out with a shield, and he gives a lasgun (yes, I saw what he had beforehand) and starts hitting the shield with it, at which point I’ve already started moving away from Earth and gaining light speed. What’s that about? Here be it AM - I don’t care, but such mistakes are unacceptable and easily penalised in Havoc.
The mode is not about personal skill, which should be in the EndGame: Yes I know perfectly well that you can refuse Meta and play what you want, but if you look at it from the point of view of you and +3 random - each such non-Meta player increases the responsibility on the others. And it’s very difficult to know the skill player in advance, and it’s even more difficult to play as a ‘team’ in random (I take into account the standard for my games, silence in voice chat).
Lack of reinforcements when one or more players drop out - because of the unavailability of the mode in a quick game, no one will come to you
I could go on and on, but the bottom line for me is that the mode is pathetic
For what it’s worth, I just finished a Havoc 27 and have no desire to go back. Props to sharkrkk the bolter zealot who clutched harder than anyone possibly could have btw. But I am not cut out for the highest levels, I’ll be sticking to the low-level ones to finish the cosmetic penances.
Is that bad?
now that’s a class
push it to like 31 or 35 so you never have to do have after itll round you up to the new max level after the update
Exactly what I’ve been saying! How can one try something different when everyone fears for their rank!
edit: after reading more patch notes, it seems that people will be more cautious with their ranks instead of trying more off-meta things.

Best way to counter ranged enemies, get into their melee range. Solution : Keep pushing forward.
Good bye (most) choke points.
I dislike nearly every proposed change to it, but saying it’s worse than weaves is a bit of a stretch: seasons? ~120-160 levels instead of 40? those annoying barrel carries, the extra cheese?
top havoc is restricting meta, but the meta isn’t nearly as limiting as shield IB just tanking while HM dashes through with invisibility because everything oneshots you.
oh, and I forgot the mission timer…
and they didn’t even allow bots at the start
Havoc has its problems, but it isn’t nearly as bad as weaves, in my opinion. I even had fun with it. Whether it’ll survive this “update” is another matter…
Honestly yea
Its not really a thing anyway. People go where they will find fun and entertainment or they quit. I almost exclusively played duos or modded solos and a lot of players were like me right until havoc existed. So we were “split” before anyway.
My most hated enemy is rank decay and derank.
Father Reginald’s sermon is correct, total demotion death
Total demotion death.
Total demotion death.
Total demotion death.
Right now, at nearly 4:30pm PST/7:30pm EST for NA, pretty peak hours, there’s a grand total of 3 groups in the party finder up for Havoc across all levels. If we assume for each party in the finder, there’s one in-mission, that means right now there’s a whopping…12 people playing Havoc on NA.
Looking at Steam, as of ~20ish minutes ago, there was nearly 4,000 people online playing Darktide. If we assume only 1 in 3 is actually playing a mission, that means we’ve got about 1 Havoc player for every ~300 other players.
For the centerpiece new flagship game mode that’s taken the bulk of dev time for the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, if it’s only engaging 0.3% of the players during peak hours, it’s hard to see where the value in that game mode and dev effort is.
