If you can not be bothered to test-run a patch on a very common build setup (AMD cards on Windows 10), then simply stop developing video games, because this is just embarrassing. Also, I demand to be compensated via Premium Cosmetics, and ONLY for those who had to deal with this recent crash, not Nvidia players.
Because you deserve to be shamed by Nvidia players knowing AMD players get a bonus for YOUR mistake.
EDIT:
As a side note I’ve had this game reviewed positively DESPITE EVERYTHING, but this is unreasonably offensive. It matters little if you get one more negative review, but oh boy do you deserve each and every one of them at this point. I desperately hope this company changes management and/or workforce and the few talent that is responsible for the good ____tide gameplay gets inserted into a healthier environment. There must be some very depressed talent in the FatShark offices.
Send me around $1000 to upgrade my processor, mother board and RAMs if its not “that hard”. Otherwise my processor is not supported on Windows 11 so I can’t.
Additionally I do not see only Windows 11 as recommended System requirements. It says Windows 10/Windows 11.
They shouldn’t work to resolve it, they should release the update without such OBVIOUS problems in the first place.
And no, I won’t install the latest CIA spyware revision until hardware manufacturers force me to, thank you very much.
My PC won’t run Windows 11. If you’re willing to upgrade it, let me know. In the meantime, I also changed my review to negative and encourage everyone else to do the same. Even when they fix this I’ll probably leave it that way, because this has been incomprehensibly stupid.
Very well said. Rushed out for the Skulls event, I’m sure. Games Workshop should be notified somehow of how sloppy the devs they trust their IP with are. I know GW are pretty lenient but their Warhammer events are not served well by sloppy, rushed products. FatShark should be threatened with losing the IP if we are to see them improved.
We’ll see how many people will want to buy their next game, Royalty Freetide
I still don’t understand why we should have to update to W11 even if everyone had the hardware for it. It is way too early to stop supporting W10 and sure enough, FatShark made absolutely no such statements that they will stop.
Ironically this game had very serious issues on high end nVidia GPUs and Windows 11 at launch. I should know, I was one of the many affected users.
Most people are afraid touch Win11 because of all all the broken telephone posts poo-poo-ing it, bad info goes viral and takes a life of its own. “CIA spyware” was already brought up…
Hel, coming back to this game, 'member the whole nothing-burger “Ray Tracing being forced on in config” bad info that went viral due to some steam wanna-be-famous ? Months later and people still bring it up.
Bro the settings arent even retaining, I constantly see raytracing enabling on custom settings which creates a massive solar flare in the morning star, and when i get in a game Ambient occlusion keeps turning itself back on.
The only way to remove is to enable it in settings, then disable it, and i have to do that each time i load into an area.
2 days late and no compensation, no official apology, no real acknowledgement that the devs bricked the game for something like a third of the playerbase for two days during their first community event and at a time when they can proudly resume sales of their premium cosmetics that cost almost as much as me shopping at GAP.
Rancid performance here by FS.
Certain specific rigs having crashes like during the first few months of release is one thing, I get that it’s hard to test for every PC setup under the sun but all AMD GPU’s on Windows 10? Can’t even test for that before throwing out the patch? That’s incredible.
Theres no excuse for trashy fatshark coding but seriously why are people so deadset on keeping windows 10…one day it will become a hinderence in more then just fatshark games…just use windows 11 it works just as good and feels almost exactly the same as windows 10. Your clearly just hurting yourself by not using windows 11 at this point.
After Windows 8, they do not get the benefit of my trust and early adoption so easily. No thanks. Let it be out for at least 3 years, I’ll switch up then.
