I’m working on a mod to fix some of Huntsman’s QoL issues & address some of his balance concerns.
In addition to lessening the value of must pick talents & improve his talent choice flexibility.
I’m aware of his bad reputation & while I don’t personally agree with it, I think tweaks can be made to make both old & new Huntsman players happy.
QoL Tweaks
- “Waste Not, Want Not” & related headshot procs should be more consistent
- “Makin’ It Look Easy” now only effects ranged & is no longer consumed by melee
- Added a 1 second internal cooldown to “Thick Hide” stack removal
- Manbow timings & equip animation jankiness smoothed out
- Blunderbuss now has a “bullseye” pellet, scoring headshots should be more consistent
Things I want to address

Huntsman’s base ammo sustain in Chaos Wastes; Keep It Coming & Shot Crafter are almost mandatory if you want sustain & to avoid trait RNG.

Certain talents like: Make 'Em Bleed, Burst of Enthusiasm, Longshanks & Head Down and Hidden are not very well desired and in need of tweaks.

Reduce the must pick nature of specific talents in certain builds, e.g Shot Crafter, Keep it Coming, One in the Eye. (Ideally talents should be a playstyle pick, influenced by weapon choice)

Open up new playstyles, perhaps hybrid options

Improve his “accessibility” outside of Keep it coming/Shot Crafter builds.
The mod is work in progress & private until I figure out what most people want.
