“I don’t Intend to do this”

I pity those of Fatshark who genuinely liking to make games. Today I found out a little detail that left big impression on me. When ogryn hitting carapace armored targets with his fist (alt attack), he shaking his hand after hit. Such small things give soul to the game. They could to not make this, but they did.

This again? yawn
This whole predatory outrage controversy is such a forced, contrived non-sense chatter, it’s really obvious this is a concerted inorganic effort to sabotage Fatshark.

I have never seen Gamers flip out this hard before over a cash shop in a game that is:
A) Not full price!
B) Has not a single piece of content locked behind a paywall
C) Has only some, not all cosmetic gear as a premium purchase available

The entire game is full of tiny details like that. I don’t see any issue here.
You’re all drilling yourself up in such a faux anger it’s sickening to witness.

I fully agree. The game is great. It’s very clear that their main priority was gameplay.

Cash shop cosmetics are so tertiary it’s actually crazy to me that anyone could get so worked up about it they come onto these forums to openly insult the devs.

To call this predatory is a joke. Have you seen the mobile games industry?

It’s just a cosmetics cash shop and you’re mad about the bundle prices. It’s childish. This thread is a raging circlejerk.

I agree the reaction here is pretty overblown, but I struggle to believe you can look at the way cosmetics were sold in VT2, then look at how they’re being sold in DT and tell me there isn’t a clear and significant degradation.

Premium currency where you can’t just buy the amount you need for the item you actually want and incredibly unnecessary FOMO timers aren’t enough for me to refund the game or start screaming at the devs calling them scumbags, but it is enough to ensure I won’t be buying any of the premium cosmetics, whereas in VT2 I bought quite a lot of premium cosmetics.

I hope others also refrain to send a message, that they have taken a significant step backwards in this regards, and I do struggle to see how you could argue that isn’t the case.

Didn’t that get patched out? tried it yesterday with the latrine shovel and the animation wasn’t there…

“We do not want such a response but we do everything exactly in such a way to get such a responses”?
Mad?

Also “some angry players have called”, no, just no:
Fatshark, premium currency, timed skins and prices which do not match (Aquilas per pack vs “price” of skins) are PSYCHOLOGICAL MANIPULATION.
Dark Patterns.
This has nothing to with being angry, it is you guys and gals deceiving and manipulation your community, your fans!

Really, what is wrong with you. I hope “Co-founder Martin Wahlund” is not speaking for all of you, because if he does… I do not know, you all are lost?
Because if you all are disappointed why did you move away from the honest system in Vermintide 2?

  • Sales
  • REAL MONEY prices

Has chaos infested the Fatshark studios or what is wrong? And I am not even angry, I AM disappointed and really troubled because of the actions and Fatshark losing touch with the reality (at least it seems to be that way).

What?
Psychologically manipulating the playerbase is “a forced, contrived non-sense chatter”? I do not mean it insulting, but are you anti-social or hating humanity? Manipulation people is nothing cool or good or something positive.

Also, it is not about sabotage (and even if, then Fatshark it is already doing it themselves), no, it is about reminding them about their own words, their promises, their integrity they (seemingly) once had.
Values which are still alive in Vermintide 2 - which still can be brought to Darktide.

So why did this game launch without game features but did launch with an mtx store?

Do you think it’s acceptable that your money is worth an incomplete product?

Yeah. I’m a bit miffed that this $40 product launched feature incomplete but they are immediately ready to nickel and dime you while you wait an hour for the gear shop to refresh.

Raise your standards, consumer

What personally irritates to the point I quit playing is how the cash shop integration affects me as a player if I try to just ignore it:
Every time I log into the game, after I pick a character, I have to suffer through a 1.5-2 minute long wait time while the game loads me into a server on the public hub, whose only purpose seems to me to make me behold other players and their premium cosmetics.
Then, I have to run towards the weapon shop / map selection, taking up more of my time - the premium shop being placed conveniently right in front of the weapon shop so I have to run past it every time I go to the one place the devs know I will regularly go, because chances are low I’ll actually get anything useful so I have to repeat this often. If I then want to craft, I can run past it again, to the other end of the superfluous hub. If I switch characters, I suffer through another 1-2 minute wait time. The whole system exists solely to waste our time, likely in the hopes that makes us spend more money.
And none of those stations can be reliably reached by keyboard shortcuts. Except the premium shop, of course, you get that in the ESC menu. I think people have all rights to be mad about at least something on the long list of things that could be generously described as suboptimal.

I hadn’t even noticed this. Good spot.

Bunch of hypocritical double-speak coming out of Fatshark, right there.

All of this. The cash shop that is ‘just cosmetics’ is affecting gameplay, despite it not actually selling anything affecting gameplay. Design decisions are made to make us as vulnerable as possible to impulse buying. Kudos to you if you can ignore that, we’re not the target audience. You’re there to allow the target audience to be tempted.

Thank you.

Nice post. It is not enough that FS tries to psychologically manipulating its player base, THEIR FANS, no, they also wish to suffer them through it.
While the “ready-up screen” makes technically sense, regarding the topic is another slap in the face.
(it would a great way to show off, if the shop would be like in Vermintide 2)

After waiting to load the hub, running around, you see 15-60 seconds some strange guys/ gals with gold masks and whatnot. Just to be sure that you know how the cool stuff looks ingame.
