How will character slots work with more classes?

The plan (I believe) is for Fatshark to release one class per quarter, adding another 20 classes to a total of 24.

How will 24 classes work with 5 character slots? I know a lot of people will want to try each class as they’re released. Are we expected to delete hours of grinding and progression, just to start all over again with the new archetype?

Even if each new class came with a character slot, if we want to try each class properly (get to level 30 to try all talents) are we honestly expected to grind 30 hours per quarter just on equipment and levels to get them to the same point as our other characters?

I’m concerned.

i think slots are so limited because there’s nothing to use them on, i fully expect each class release that would need a new slot to also give you another slot.

While that seems perfectly logical, also seems insane to be able to have 25 characters let alone manage/play that many

Don’t give them any ideas. Mechwarrior Online did that and it sucked.

im still hoping some of them will be different skilltrees for existing characters, similar how the careers are in v2 but its pre release still all we can do is speculate

They were right when they said the career system was a crutch.

I don’t know, but I’m really hoping they just unlock more choices for all the things. So after the first character is released I have 2 Ults to choose from, 6 level 5 perks, 6 level 10 perks… whatever those passive things are called, let me select 3 from 6 etc… Just let me mix and match.

I think most likely it would be 3 additional classes to the four archetypes in the game already, making a total of 16 character choices. Most likely when you are playing an archetype you might be able to swap his class… if not that’d be a real level grind I would distain.
