How can devs make the same mistake 4 times in a row?

How can the QA and devs make the same mistakes when it comes to cosmetics?
Each time they add cosmetics that change the voice of our characters, the audio or the models are bugged.

How? I understand that it can happen twice, but 4 times in a row???

Eyes are on the prize: a new game.
That’s where their attention is.

What new game? They announced nothing and no leaks were made regarding this.

Not my research, admittedly.

Dang, I missed that completely.
I can only congratulate Fatting Shark for ignoring a game with a huge amount of potential.

Smallest team of FS, they aren’t dropping DT

Still not in a good state.

From what we know from official source is that only some artists are now working on that game, so the “Devs” are still not really on it.

If you’re wonder what the Devs can be on, it’s for example different modes, like Chaos Waste, making new weapons (held back by item rework)…

They won’t mention it though cause they aren’t ready

This has nothing to do with the fact that the people who are working on the actual content are not doing a great job.

Tbh, this game seems on the path to a wall…

Too much time to develop it, and more than that, too few new content since the release.
I am exactly at the tipping point… I feel really more confortable playing Helldivers 2 cause:

  • the game rewards you for playing
  • the punishment mechanisms are enough soft to not be too frustrating
  • the game improves everydays and they release new weapons regurlarly.

What I love in DT is the mix between melee and ranged combat. However, I played it 2 338,6 hours (against 159,7 for HD2). But in HD2 I have already seen more new features or items introduced than in Darktide.

The development is too slow to maintain an interest after 1 year and half.’
And I won’t talk about balance problems that have a big impact in this game… in fact if someone can “steal” you the enemies, well, you cannot play at all.
This cannot occurs in HD2 but for bad reasons, for the fact that people tend to not progress as a team. In fact, I consider teammates in HD2 more dangerous than the enemies… when I meet a group where there’s someone that starts to use air strikes on team (yes… this is really common) or that shoot at you with incendiary shell and kill you to help you with a tiny mob (yes yes, it happens also), then I tend to go solo in the map (diff 7 or 8, depend of my mood). So, I can always find something to kill, I just have to go away of the group 10 meters…
But in DT, balance means everything… it means same weapons used, is means that you cannot play a weapon cause you will be so uneffective that you won’t play at all…

From what I’ve read since the realease of DT, FS has always worked like that and they are unable to make them better.
They tend to correct bugs and reintroduce them later… it could (and seem) due to their way to organize the work between the teams.
I am not sure we can blame the ones that are working on the game… I would blame managers cause it really looks like an organization problem.

Vt2 survived, DT will too.

Neither will thrive to the level that it could have, or to the level that people think it could have. But they’ll keep to the game, they’ll introduce new modes.

Are we talking about the same thing?
Perhaps you are replying to what Ralendil said.

I am putting everyone in the same boat since I don’t know how the development works there.
The managers are to blame as well since they allow such practices to happen and they don’t act. But I bet the developers also have something to do with it.

Yes I was, cosmetics are for the most part made by a separate team from what I know, though QA isn’t FS’s strength

Then they should hire somebody who is capable instead of relying on people defending their practices.

Are you saying I’m defending them?

Like FS’s QA is trash I never said otherwise, but the problems aren’t due to FS abandoning DT

Mmm, that’s a very strange insider. Okay, well, let’s just say
It’s probably VS, the section for which has appeared on the forum. But hey, if they can’t do balance in a PVE game, and here it’s going to be PVP… heh.

And yes, give birth to a raw game, release an underpatch with achievements, spice it up with costumes and it’s done, wait about a year for the next big patch, and we’ll work on another project with the whole team. I don’t know, it just looks like that.

Of course, I’d like to believe that they’re secretly working on balance, weapons, removing random numbers, crafting, etc.
But… I’ve already become as sceptical as possible about all these hopes.

Based on your previous messages, you jumped pretty quick to defend Darktide and its development.
But alas, this won’t fix the broken cosmetics I have purchased.

At the very least if you want I think you can ask a refund for the cosmetic

Only reason I replied to this thread was due to the thread that was linked

Think of it like submitting a timecard to your manager at the end of the week. They’re “technically” working if you just look at the card and not actually see the performance. Game is washed and a joke. Holding onto my last few straws for FS, praying next week’s Skulls Event offers us something to get excited for.
