It doesn’t relaly matter to them. They’ll just fix it in 2 weeks when they have to add the new cosmetics to the game for the next store rotation. Gotta put SOMETHING in those “hotfixes” after all.

Wait until the Skulls event before saying anything concrete. I’m holding out hope that they held back something bigger from the Penance update for the event.
Does this mean I am delusional? Almost certainly.
However there’s still a (small) chance something big comes out of it, and even a couple of new maps, some weapon balance changes, and hopefully some new marks or new weapons would be really nice.
If not, and we have to wait until after August for another substantial update I will be very, very sad.

I honestly love how everyone started replying to this post after somebody has mentioned something regarding the fact that the development team might switch to another unannounced title.
