How about Hot Fixing Plasteel and Reward amounts?

Oh, i agree with him and also have an even more nostalgic Avatar and tent to do elongated posts with dictionary definitions
What i think he should do is not spend so much time with people insulting him.

Just being cheeky, I had to pick somebody for the DF reference and I was slightly bitter he never responded to me about the script thing that spawned this whole conversation :stuck_out_tongue:

i didnt meant you, i thought some answers of the comrade here are a little bit exhausting.

I know lots of people here argue a lot and sometimes hard and just have different PoV to some aspects of the game or the game in general.
I also often tend to disagree with some or others feel attacked by my opinions.

Well that is how it should be and can lad to some fruitfull compromises that FS can orientate at.

Hah, yeah, I have noticed a tendency for people to not back down… ever on these forums combined with very long posts. It’s interesting. Posts can end up getting rehashed a lot. After a few back and forths if there’s not really new being said I try to just let it go before it devolves too hard. (Ideally, I won’t pretend I’m perfect)

That kinda leads into how it’s going to be impossible to please everybody though. I’ve seen posts that I generally agree with from people that I know decided they dislike me enough to block me apparently. Oh well. What can you do? Hopefully it can lead to some compromises but this is the internet, everyone else is wrong and stupid. :upside_down_face:

Will that mindset (and nothing else; no other skills or strategy) take you to the top of Overwatch League? I think even as someone who doesn’t appear to understand much of the depth to shooters, you still have a rough idea that “shoot stuff, don’t get shot” falls woefully short of the myriad of skills you’d need to be the rank 1 player in the world.

Well it’s that accumulation of skills that determines a game’s depth.

Summarizing Chess as “just take the king” doesn’t magically turn Chess into a shallow game, because it misses out on all the nuance (and it’s that nuance that causes Chess to be a deep game).

Bubbles, be honest: would you say Darktide doesn’t have much besides progression?

Because that’s what the conversation has been about: the other poster said Darktide doesn’t have much besides progression.

To me the non-progression stuff is basically all it has! That’s the game! That’s what I spend 90% of my session time engaging with.

  • Lacking solo play doesn’t impact me at all. I do think it should exist but it’s not required for the game to be deep.
  • Lacking V2’s “linear story” is a super weird callout, because basically only two missions (the Prologue, which you basically never play, and the final Mission) involve an actual linear storyline.
  • The full crafting is a great point, but outside the context of a conversation about what DT has outside of progression (because crafting is progression).
  • Unique bosses added depth and I agree are missing from DT
  • Bots being functional doesn’t really impact depth much. Obviously they’re trash and should be fixed, but mentioning them seems unrelated to the conversation at hand (and especially unrelated to DT’s depth of play).

V2 was buggy at launch, but bugs and world variety aren’t what we’re discussing.

In fact an earlier poster made an argument that they would play DT with no progression at all (with instant max-stat weapons), which may be another great way of making my point that there’s more than just progression.

I agree with you on this.

I too would like to play DT with no progression, because the current progression system puts a layer of acute frustration and annoyance over everything else.

You can 1v1 bulwarks with most melee weapons, since the majority of melee weapons have a quick stagger move you can hit the bulwark with when he goes to attack and then loop it again before he recovers from hit stun unless its like catachan sword or something. I honestly find Crushers more annoying because a lot of weapons won’t inflict meaningful damage on them at all, seriously limiting builds and variety.

To get back to the original point, they really should increase plasteel reward amounts. Or at least give us a way to exchange diamantine for plasteel. Everyone has a massive excess of diamantine at the moment because plasteel is always the limiting factor. What’s the point of that?

We should be able to buy plasteel AND diamantine with in game currency (no no FS, not with aquilas…)

So I see damnation is max 285 plasteel and like 200 some diamantine. If that is the case, even at max collection per run, the ratios are so off as crafting takes 2-3 times more plasteel vs diamantine. It’s a simple calculation that the devs apparently find too immeasurably complex to fix.

This week for sure.

“To me the non-progression stuff is basically all it has! That’s the game! That’s what I spend 90% of my session time engaging with.”

That’s because the progression sucks as you’re time gated(so you can’t engage with it beyond those supposed “10%” of times) while being the only thing that keep people playing(at least as far as fatshark is concerned; otherwise there wouldn’t be so much rng + reroll/stat limit to guard people from having a “godroll”; hilarious how you essentially admitted there wasn’t much outside “progression” since you claimed it would “kill a game faster” to actually give people the tool they need to play the way they want, if giving people that supposed 10% is going to kill a game faster, then that supposed 90% wasn’t much, checkmate).
The rest is not much because there is a fully functional game called Vermintide2 that is also cheaper, to which DT’s moment to moment gameplay is merely sidegrade if even that, that comparatively respects players’ time much more.
But of course you just can’t recognize that fact due to your mental gymnastics while trying to create a new thread to try to save face. It’s pretty obvious to everyone when you tried to downplay ghost hits which does seriously affect moment to moment gameplay(you know, what you claim to be “basically all it has!”).

Still waiting on you to substantiate your claim btw.

This week? I think you mean Next Week™

Please make plasteel 2-3x higher if you are not going to allow us to convert ordos to it, or convert diamantine.

The lack of mention of plasteel economy in the latest Dev post felt very conspicuous to me. Especially assuming blessing crafting will also use some of these resources, if they stay at their current levels crafting will remain a chore whatever else they do with the system. We need more of it, and ideally we need to get a good amount base just for mission completion, so there is less incentive for tedious looting of stages. Very ironic they created the conherency mechanic to encourage tight team formations then added material drops that incentivise everyone running off to opposite corners of a room to collect resources.

This 100%. Stay together with your team, OR collect resources. OH any by the way, even if you do collect resources, you are still likely to find only about 200/200 of each on damnation, when plasteel crafting costs are like 2-3x diamantine.

Yeah if they add significantly more costs (in the form of the new systems) without significant inputs, it’ll definitely be an issue.

Totally agree… We need to get not x3 plasteel if they raise the cost of crafting but… X10 plasteel.
