Hotfix #69 (1.8.1) - Patch Notes

Hey Everyone,

Hotfix #69 (1.8.1) is currently rolling out across our platforms. This hotfix addresses multiple crash issues and gameplay bugs primarily related to the release of the Battle for Tertium Free Update and the Arbites Class. In the meantime, you can read the notes below.

  • Fixed the biggest crash stemming from the Battle for Tertium release: a crash would occur when starting the game and joining servers with a certain combination of skins/trinkets and the Ogryn Pickaxes.

  • Fixed a crash that occurred often when playing missions with Toxic Gas enabled.

  • Fixed a crash that occurred when having the Steam overlay disabled.

  • Fixed a crash occurring when creating a new character if scrolling too quickly throughout the character creation menus.

  • Fixed a crash that can occur when selecting the Lone Wolf talent while your Cyber-Mastiff is wearing a smoke-emitting cosmetic. As a temporary fix we removed visual FX from the dog cosmetics while we investigate a more permanent fix to be deployed soon.

  • Fixed a crash that would occur when Auspex devices started playing sounds the same time as the player wielded a weapon.

  • Fixed an issue where the Play button on the Mission Board would temporarily be unavailable if no Campaign mission was active.

  • The hair of the ā€œBrahms’ Memoriesā€ NPC in the Meat Grinder is now properly displayed.

  • Fixed an issue where the notification pop-up for unlocking a curio slot would continuously re-appear.

  • Removed the Scab Radio Operator variant from the ā€œTraitorous collectiveā€ penance.

    • Note: the same issue in ā€œElitistā€ penance will be fixed in the next hotfix.
  • ā€œModify Cyber-Mastiff Appearanceā€ in the Barber-Chirurgeon screen is now translated to all languages.

  • Fixed an issue where ā€˜Break the Line’ wouldn’t properly interrupt Weapon Actions.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff would stop attacking after its owner had been consumed by a Beast of Nurgle.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff wouldn’t jump down from the Valkyrie at the start of ā€˜Rolling Steel’.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff would target the Poxbusters automatically. It should only do so at the order of the Arbitrator from now on.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff would have its Outline enabled even when the related Options setting was set to Off.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff had the wrong attack type towards Daemonhosts spawned through the ā€˜Heinous Ritual’ circumstance.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff could have two cosmetics applied during mission cutscenes.

  • Fixed an issue where ā€˜Execution Order’ would decrease the Damage dealt by Monstrosities attacked by the Cyber-Mastiff.

  • Fixed an issue where ā€˜Break the Line’ would force heavy stagger on the Dreg Captains.

  • Fixed an issue where the ā€˜Castigator’s Stance’ description didn’t specify that it replenished all Toughness.

  • Fixed an issue where the ā€˜Nuncio-Aquila’ descriptions didn’t specify its Cooldown.

  • Fixed an issue where ā€˜Hold the Line’ didn’t specify the stacks Duration.

  • Fixed an issue where the Cyber-Mastiff could get stuck in between walls for an extended period of time.

  • Fixed an issue where the ā€˜Voltaic Shock Mine’ description displayed an incorrect range value.

    • Note: The actual range for the mine is 3m.
  • Added a check that prevents players without the Arbites DLC from purchasing the Arbites Exterminator Shotgun weapon skin in the Commodore’s Vestures.

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when a Veteran would activate ā€˜Executioner’s Stance’ near a Cyber-Mastiff.

  • Fixed an issue that was preventing equipped weapon cosmetics from showing up in the Operative menu, Mourningstar or Ready Up screen.

  • Various improvements to how cosmetics and rewards are displayed in the inventory.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when killing an enemy as a Veteran while nearby a Cyber-Mastiff and having the ā€œTarget Down!ā€ talent selected.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the server to crash when a player joined while on an elevator.

Would these have anything to do with trying to hide the ā€˜universal’ human cosmetics from Arbites? Hm?

Any word on bait and switch tricking people with ā€œuniversal human cosmeticsā€ only to not have it apply to Arbites?

…Nice.

Any chance of adding back the Karnak twins mission?

So my biggest complaints;

  1. When will we be getting any commisarry skins for the Arbites AND the previous new weapons that have been introduced? The comissarry is looking depressingly sparse.
  2. Arbites should be allowed to equip all the human accessories or it needs to be made extremely clear why they are not allowed to do so.
  3. Will we be getting a new ACTUAL psyker weapon anytime soon? Psyker needs some love. Psyker hasn’t had a Psyker weapon (I am talking the staffs, that enable psykers to wield warp power) since launch. We could really do with a fireball staff that has Warpflame bolt as a primary range attack and Warpfire ball as a AoE charge secondary.

Anyhow, keep at it. The game is still fun to play and is finally starting to shape up.

Edit: Does anyone know if the missing mission has been re-added yet? that’s also a thing

Edit 2: As commented, i mean the RANGED psyker weapon are lacking.

I can assure you 100% this is part of it and not listed

What about the issue in the interaction between executioner stance and Arbites marking for the mastiff? The Vet Ulti is unusable right now because it will crash every game with the error 2014.

Thank you fatsharkkitefin, very cool.

tbh that’s an incredibly narrow definition. Force swords are absolutely a psyker weapon.

Combat shotguns values on PS5 currently show pre patch stats, I think this applies to all weapons that were supposed to be updated/buffed.

Also with all the weapon buffs can we slightly improve cleave and mobility on the blaze force greatsword?

Also make the charge not decay and strength be based of percentage of bar filled, instead of have ā€œhalfā€ or ā€œfull chargeā€ only?

Last but not least empowered psionics is generally unused besides smite. If y’all take out the peril decrease and charge time buff and just add ā€œinfectious headacheā€ itd bring some love(and fun) to the middle keynode

Thanks

Apologies, I should have specified ranged weapon. The force sword/greatsword are wonderful weapons.

It should have never been fixed in the first place. If I play a human sized character, be it a Guardsman or an Aribitrator, they should be able to equip either side’s cosmetics given that they thematically fit their character.

A bionic eye? Implants? A beret, a rebreather or even a hoodie with goggles should be applicable for all classes bar Ogryn. It’s a poor excuse and another push towards the disgusting FOMO practices that Fatshark is known for.

Such behavior is not ā€˜fixing’ a bug, it’s forcing us to rely on the game hopefully releasing a decent piece for your class, just to then charge 10€ for an ingame cosmetic that you otherwise already own on a different character, just as a recolor + a beret with it.

When are you guys and gals going to fix the issue that we still can’t play solo w/ bots like was promised over 2 and a half years ago?

Or the veteran weapon. I didn’t want to deflate the hype brigade but that rumored second power sword was just that, a whisper into the void. Will veterans get a weapon before autumn?

So many bad things in the last update…

@FatsharkJulia just found out you’re the person to tag for bugs sorry for bothering. As stated above weapons like the combat shotgun that were supposed to be updated this patch show the same values on ps5

Strange, I wonder if this is a caching/UI issue - keen to hear how widespread this is!

What we were hoping for as this update:

  • new weapons, including vet’s promised weapon
  • new maps to go with everything else
  • maybe (unlikely) solo mode to go with the ā€˜narrative update’
  • an event with aquilas like the last one

What we got:

  • Paid DLC
  • Charging $5 for putting the visor up
  • Stealing our existing cosmetics in a backend update because how dare the peons have drip for the new class without paying more for it
  • No solo mode
  • No aquila event
  • No new maps
  • No new weapons that aren’t paid DLC
  • Nothing justifying 6 months of ā€˜work’
