Please bring HDR to this game for oled users. This game would be perfect for it with all the dark atmosphere.
Acknowledged
There was an HDR entry in the config at launch, and there are currently a few sprinkled HDR render references in the Lua code. Nobody likes a tease, especially one that never delivers.
stop calling normal patches “hotfix” ![]()
Riku I seriously want to stop ![]()
But patch feels wrong when it’s a few things like this.
WHAT DO I CALL IT.
Bugfix, Minor patch, half-patch, Performance-patch. Something like that ought to be more fitting ![]()
I’ve wanted to do this for awhile, so I’ll just do it.
OK, when I change the next one, and people start screaming, I am @'ing you @Riku ![]()
We need more Update variety. Bring on the Balance Passes and Bugfixes! ![]()

I found this!
I was curious why “Patch” was listed as “temporary” though, and this was what it said
Computer patches are often temporary fixes between full releases of software packages. Patches are used to correct both large and small issues that may or may not require immediate attention, such as:
- Fixing a software bug
- Installing new drivers
- Addressing new security vulnerabilities
- Addressing software stability issues
- Upgrading the software

Edit: the Introduction paragraph does note that these terms are often used interchangeably but these are the nuances behind them.
Thank you for sharing this
Very kind. I would like to use more specific terms for things. When does it stop being a hotfix for a patch and become a cold fix?
Lots to think about hahah.
Interesting, tho it seems to differ when in relation to gaming specifically maybe the terminology was adopted but changed.
what did you search for google to give you something so specific? i only get goo
edit: had to ask gpt cuz too dumb to steer google:

call me biased but it gave me exactly my understanding of what a hotfix is
(full answer)
I use Duckduckgo as my search engine, which may have given me different results but I believe my search was for: “hotfix”
I’ve seen the term in my 20+ years gaming but never really thought about what it meant so I was looking for a definition (turns out my assumption was right) and found a comparison between different terms. I’d never heard of coldfix before though.
You’re probably right that the terms have been adopted/bastardized by the gaming community. The article is from 2025 and does reference online gaming. But I think the problem is that: a hotfix and coldfix can both be patches while not being bugfixes but a bugfix can also be a patch but is usually done before players ever see it. But if you’re fixing bugs with a hotfix it’s still a bugfix technically lol
Edit: and I think patches being “temporary” doesn’t apply to live service games because it would be a situation where you’re modifying the code for now, but a more permanent solution would roll out in a major version update. (1.5 to 2.0)
i have never seen patches that way, but i guess you could?
for me, the “newest patch” equates to “the newest version”. Including major content etc. “are you playing the newest patch” isn’t unheard of when talking about content updates.
Yeah, that’s what I was trying to get at. You might patch a bit of code for a calculator application v1.013, but when you add trig functions to the app and bring it to 2.0, you’re not patching it up and those previous patches are incorporated fully into the new code.
It doesn’t work in the sense of how video games work with patches, hot fixes, etc.
Why haven’t there been any updates yet
