Sounds like it’ll be possible to mod in gore for PC. Dunno FS’s stance on that or if it’d be allowed on Nexus, but if it’s possible (and it seems likely) it’ll be out there to have.

but the audacity to pre-emptively censor pc gamers just so that console

bought my rig for about 4300€ exclusively to play darktide shortly after beta(then still on my 2080 at 60 fps), made a channel on youtube to show my passion for the game, learned my love for 40k and then this?

Doubt console version had to do with it.
Since it was in the source code a long time ago just never enabled.
Also why should a console make the steam version change?
for one sony hasnt been a part of the “console-problem”(less horde size etc) until this very day.
microsoft seemed fine with that stuff, sony gets their panties in a twist for much less as far as player freedom goes (mods etc i.e fallout games)
guess in order to get the green light from them, developers need to bend to a bit more in this case.
again, angry guessing on my part half an hour past bed time.

I think the rag doll restrictions have been active on Xbox this whole time.
True, but still allowed to mod normally on xbox/pc and there were never amy changes to em.
Mod wise i think its a Sony OS problem.
Also i dont see sony just wanting to censore 3 countries in rhig game aswell. Like in wolfenstein i can download the uncensored or censored version of my choice.
I hope its just a fatshark bug, since it affects all platforms.

yeah xbox version, including microsoft store version have not had interactable ragdolls since launch. once the body is dead you cant slap it around or move it in any way

Yeah, honestly peddling mods to fix a problem that shouldn’t exist in the first place kinda isn’t the way to go about this…
Tends to be the default amongst the folks that are willing to mod their game, which isn’t useful for those who cannot (or, don’t want to).
I get it for features that aren’t included, despite a slew of mods being QoL and aren’t integrated into the game due to laziness because “modders did it if you want it” (genuinely a dog:poop: excuse regardless), but this is just layer upon layer of incompetence or laziness or both.

Needing to block access to entire maps? That’s not good. Not that I can play them when I want to anyway, but still.

How crazy is it that the decision on whether or not you can see gore is made by someone else, instead of yourself? Do these people somehow know better? You are a consenting adult, the themes in a video game should be your decision whether you can handle seeing them or not. After all, what use is a rating system if mature content will still be censored for mature audiences either way?

Could it be a part of code made for PS5 that applies, by error, to steam? I would not be suprised.
you see, apart from the health care there’s literally no reason i’m staying at this point from a “rational” standpoint.
all those decades i made it a goal to still get my entertainment media in the uncut version and ironically its what taught me english in the first place.
not fking school or any i was forced to attend no, the passion for games and movies made me fluent in a foreign language cause the west german version of the stasi was deeming certain things unsuitable and feared for the rise of emotionless,drooling murder machines.
so whenever a game made it onto the “Index für jugendgefährdende Schriften” ( i can give you a hint where my ingame nickname since 1994 came from 
) it was “knighted” and had to be aquired, no matter the effort or cost.
sheer spite alone made me play lotsa games that were mediocre at best from a gameplay perspective or “indiziert” for the most braindead or hilarious reasons you couldnt think of yourself cause you still had your marbles together.
A10 (pixelated isometric warplane shoot em up) was “indiziert” cause you could destroy huts.
you got that right.
huts that hypothetically surely had people in it so destroying said shanty towns would be deemed murder on civilians.
thats the kind of utter brainrot you had to fight against here for decades.
now fast forward around 10 years ago, like every dude in his midlife 30s phase, i was thinking of selling my house get a greencard and move to a state that had all the good stuff like open carry license etc.
thing was for most jobs i was interested in to apply i would have had a prior education in say military or other suitable law enforcement areas, plus be already residing there for 6 years…
anyways hindsight is 20/20
back to the “censorship” travesty:
all those years i was proudly talking about any new “purchase” among my friends and helped them find a way to import themselves, cause the next idiotic
loophole is that privat possession is perfectly “legal” (as if anyone cares at that point) only the public sale and advertisement by shops or stores is “prohibited”
heck i can walk around with underwear having the slogan “i love (insert war criminal of choice)” and no one can do a thing about it as long as you dont strut it on the streets.
oh btw, you can drive in your car butt naked but not exit in public places, but you can have sex while driving as long as youre not endangering the other traffic.

iirc they forced steam users to set up a psn account in order to keep playing hd2, which made them leave in droves, so that part was retracted.

tbh i’m more inclined to see this as a bug, a setting for psn users swapping over to the whole darktide network because they’re getting connected for crossplay.
and in light of this, yes, pc users should finally have an option to opt out.
