Any game mode where it is possible to succeed with a random uncoordinated group of pugs will be too easy and thus boring for a highly skilled coordinated premade team. If the new Havoc mode had a quick play function then players using it would expect it to be reasonably possible to succeed at the highest rank in a random team, and would then complain and complain until the difficulty is tuned down to make that possible. To even have a chance of success in the hardest possible mode in a co-operative horde shooter should require a full team of experienced and skilled players, with tailored loadouts, playing with communication in a coordinated way.
There is already plenty of challenging content to jump into with randoms through quick play. However, there is currently nothing remotely challenging to enjoy if you have a full group of skilled friends. I’m surprised they’re putting resources towards catering to this presumably small portion of the community, maybe our cosmetic purchases or content creation (free advertising) are significant enough, who knows. But I for one am glad that it appears they are taking it seriously enough to ensure there will finally be a satisfying (aka almost impossible) challenge for players and teams of all skill levels.
