Havoc stinks

35+ is only worth doing(for challenge/title etc) and even then, it’s a slog with meta loadouts (a whole other problem due to the way they balanced it with less health/toughness instead of smarter ways) that I fear most people will get bored of it once they beat it (already seen some pre-mades beat it day one then move on to POE) therefore less ways of getting into a match for it for solo people.

Hosting your own is basically the same problem. You need to get to the top for to be able to do them nd of course, failing brings you back down, so you’re reluctant to take some noob looking people you’d otherwise wouldn’t care too much as you could QP into another. So now you’re waiting in the room all day looking out for people with titles/frames etc that seem decent.

Just scrap making it locked out unless someone has it, and make each level accessible 24/7 so it can have some legs.

Otherwise here I am sitting in party finder for 10/20/30 minutes looking for a 35+ to basically have once chance to play it if you get selected by host.

Just me 2cent

Can’t even be bothered to load up the game to get my weekly “reward cache”. Colossal waste of my time, and their time.

I wonder what they where thinking with the whole “2 players”-minium.

That kinda breaks this mode for me…

I haven’t even touched it and i already know i wont ever until they change it. I can’t believe they thought putting out a game mode designed for the sweaties in a content drought. And idgaf what people say about penances, they are achievements, plain and simple. Even with all that to do, there isn’t anything else. They would be doing numbers if they tried to throw in something fun, out of the ordinary, but im sure the gatekeepers would like to have a word with me if i even suggest ‘fun’. I mean how many sweaties are there in this game that warranted them to waste time make this for them and not focusing on content for everyone??

Havoc is great, a really fun mode for the challenge and teamwork

Only if you find a good team by accident via Party Finder, which is totally luck-based,
or you have friend in the same timezone(!) (waves @Khorne_Dawg & friends)
to play with (which I don’t have many of).

Quit frankly, when I come back from work.
I just want to play this game mode,
without jumping through extra hoops,
for a game mode that will die because of this conditions.

Pls address this in your next internal “staff meeting”.
Add something like “quickplay” and remove the “two player”-condition

Thx.

Yeah pretty much with OP and others here.

The entire mode is just a PiTa to actually play and not feel bad about it. I tried finding a game to join and after 20 minutes got frustrated and stopped. Not just Havoc but DT. Quit out entirely and did something else.

  • Let everyone rank up the same instantly after a mission (hosts and joiners alike)
  • Remove the rank decay
  • Remove the three strikes and you’re out system
  • Add a quick play option where you can specify a range to QP into.

If FS really wants to keep a rank system in they should opt for a streak system. The higher the streak the bigger your mission payout multiplier is.

hence my progress in stalker 2 :expressionless:
they managed to turn the game i loved the most in the last 2 years into something to check off the daily list and be glad to gotten it over with.

come 40 it likely be back to auric maelstrom, which doesnt kick anymore knowing what havoc COULD be, but not going though the :poop: that is party finder 20 minutes for a 30 minute result among “rejected”

given the chance id play 5 havocs a night, right now time’s up and maybe one match wrapped up

Why complain so much? You are not forced to play it. It’s clearly content designed for sweatlords in search for more challenges.
And I’m not defending it as one of these sweatlords, I care very little about havoc mode.

It’s been pretty fun. Helluva challenge.

The only good thing about Havoc at the higher levels is how it promotes sticking together and coherency-based teamplay. But it doesn’t outweight the negatives in my experience. The shoe-horning of all players into particular builds ruins most of the fun. Less options means less freedom and less fun.

Havoc is objectively trash. If you don’t have a bubble psyker on the team it’s an almost guaranteed loss. I feel like it has made me a worse player because it promotes an over-reliance on bubble, chorus, and voice of command.

The toughness nerf combined with the ranged damage increase, and the sheer number of melee enemies and the HP increase of melee enemies, means the entire mechanic with trying to close the distance to shooters to engage them in melee, is simply suicidal.

The rate of their fire, the damage they do, and the fact that they stunlock you if they hit, completely eliminates this part of the game as a viable strategy. The psykanium “training” that teaches you to dodge-slide towards ranged enemies to put them into melee mode is simply not a viable method of play.
There are too many ranged, they are too far apart, they can spawn in all directions (all the maps are intentionally made so as to never leave you in a spot where you can ensure your back is covered), and the sheer amount of damage they do to your toughness, means you will never be able to lock enough of them into melee mode.

The alternative ways of generating toughness (such as through kills, coherency regeneration, heavy hits, etc.) simply cannot compete with the incoming ranged damage in any conceivable way. The ONLY viable strategy is to cycle bubble, chorus, and voice-of-command over and over again.

An other issue with this system, that i have not seen being brought up:

Unless i overlooked something, each player can only host a mission on a difficulty level equal to their current havoc rank.

Let’s say i got up to rank 40, but i would usually prefer to play a bit more relaxed on diff ~30.
Now the only way to do this, is to wait for someone else (who is currently at that rank) to invite me to their mission.

You can actually downrank your own mission now intentionally, which still has limited player choice though because you can’t go back up again unless you manually re-rank it or wait a week for it to set itself back to your highest-completed-that-week.

Well that sucks.

they hamfisted progress so hard its either A.S.S cheese all over or losing interest in the fkkedup party finder.

all for the sake of content keeping fresh over the holidays, when premades clear it day one and bubble-cuddlers a day after.

when i first heard of havoc, without knowledge of vermintide etc. i thought it a voluntary buffet with choseable modifiers and map and depending on what abomination you cobble together you get an according reward.

you know, freedom of choice.
that way the team could have decided from the ankle of their composition, whereas now the composition is hardwired to the content.

100% opposite direction of what would have a mode for months to come.
