Hi intensity shock troop gauntlet and engagement zones

please, for the love of god can we stop forcing conditions onto missions. like, just stop. let me play the god damn mission.

as of writing this mission, there are 5 shock troop gauntlets, 2 engagement zones, and one sniper gauntlet.

IVE HAD A LONG DAY AT WORK. I JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN.

i dont need worlds biggest schlong medal for every single damn mission that i go up against.

and for all the immediate “oh just X,Y,Z” or a “maybe you should X,Y, Z” i dont care im not reading it, i dont need to change the board does.

i want to play on auric, i want to play base missions. i dont want to have to the shiniest turd remaining alive on auric missions every game where everyone is died and saying “nice try”. i dont want a nice try, i win most missions, i dont want to be dragging a sack along with me for the missions, i just want to play a game, get some diamantine(why do i have 50k plasteel and 300 diamantine, but i suppose thats a different thing that i can cope with) and have a teeny weeny bit of fun before i have to go back to work again.

im not 18 anymore ive got things to do with my life other than playing this game, i cant spend an hour failing missions and having a nice try, you’ve got the years and the time, i dont, stop weighing me down.

rant over, can we please just have a MAXIMUM of two high intensity, Ramipril requiring, monster energy drink mandatory missions on the board at ANY given time. not the opposite.

please.

While your at the mission terminal, press M to show the campaign playlist. From there you can choose any mission in the game on any difficulty, but strictly without modifiers.

funnily enough i did this, bunch of people joined and he immediately stole my damage stimm, it frustrated me more than it should have, so im not playing the game for the rest of the day. I’ll just wait for the new class to drop not having enough materials.

Then lower the difficulty! But come on — you want to feel like you’re part of the elite players, don’t you?

looks like we’ve another who can’t read or bait

Have you entertained the notion that it is there to keep the noobs out? And how remarkably successful and on point it is in your case?

then why do i play better than you then?

I regret this. I was mad at the time and felt like it was a personal attack, re reading it I can see it was a generalised comment and not calling me a noob, I regret getting so mad at the game I let namecalling bother me, let alone completely misread what was being said.

I am tired of 75% of the Auric mission board being taken up by Hi-Int STG. I have cleared it time and again. The uninterrupted conga line of specialists isn’t exactly heaps of fun to deal with. Could we get something else please ?

What is this conversation? As of right now, you can play any mission in the game, on any difficulty, with 0 modifiers. You need never play with modifiers ever again if you don’t want to.

the mission board overhaul is the one update that continues to get kicked down the road. no more regular T5 difficulty with auric infused. I had a spell of playing fog snipers and dogs almost continuously on quickplay the other day. its too bad modifiers that are fun and interesting are only ever up for events.

So you want to play…Damnation?

This is completely wrong but I want to see what you’re thinking of, how would someone do this?

Auric is specifically the same thing as Damnation, it just has more of those modifiers you dislike. So why do you want to play on Auric?

Obviously they should redesign the modifier system, but if they did that they might aswell remove Aurics because the modifiers ARE Aurics. It’s the sole difference

There is a big difference, Aurics has the old Damnation enemy stats. Current Damnation really is too easy if you were playing normal old Damnation or even old non-STG Auric before the difficulty shuffle. It’s just that with current Auric they really did jack up the intensity to nonsensical levels with no middle ground, since Fatshark said that current Auric has hi-int baked in all the time, and then they layered another hi-int on top of that via modifiers and I think that broke something with the director.

Mate, they added this option when they revamped the campaign. See my above comment

This allows you to pick any mission, including the Orthus Offensive, and play it on any difficulty without any modifiers. You do have to “beat” the new campaign once, but veteran players were given the option to skip this.

Yeah but those are curtailed scenarios with a lot of set ambient spawns and no conventional matchmaking. Dunno why it would be hard it would be to take some of the many dog and sniper fog scenarios or the times it’s like 5 HISTGs and make it not that. Do people really find the hounds or sniper modifiers hard? I just find them obnoxious.

Yea I get why the campaign would be your answer, but campaign missions all have their own modifier with scripted boss spawns. Plague Ogryns are legit the only monster you get in the first half of the entire campaign :skull:.

And worth mentioning is that Auric is always guaranteed to have a modifier of some kind and that the 40 Havoc ranks leave no player agency to choose what map, modifiers or difficulty you’d want to play on.

I’m so lost dude, what do you mean? I literally just played one to see if I was missing something. They’re completely vanilla missions, the way they were on release before any modifiers were added. “Assassination” or “espionage” are just mission descriptors. Bosses are revealed sequentially for flavor.

The whole reason for this post was that OP doesn’t want to play with modifiers, how does this not fit the bill? Choose your level, choose your difficulty, away you go.

During the campaign as I was leveling the Arbites, the game felt normal, and it felt good. I did the campaign mode all over again when given the option with Veteran, and did them all on Auric, and by the end, it felt like how the game should be. It was a bit easy, but it was super refreshing to not have special spam and bloated piles of enemies all over.

I strongly feel there should be an alternative difficulty mode where the enemies themselves simply attack faster, are more durable, and do more damage while having the same numbers as Damnation or even Heresy.

Auric is the final difficulty in the game that is expected to be a challenge with Hi-Int already built-in to be a stepping stone into havoc. If you want to play missions without modifiers, then you can queue in regular Damnation or Heresy lobbies, where there is no Hi-int, and have a chill time. The mission board, at least for Auric is working as intended. You also don’t need to play Auric, as hp values of enemies between Damnation and Auric should be the same, and the resource gain should be the same as well.
