I would also counter argue your point, no you cannot play gun only. you will never be able to play gun only in darktide. The gameplay foundation does not allow for it. You will have to use melee to gain distance/breathing room as I have said before in a previous post.

I play knife revolver infiltrate. and yes i use damage aura. I also have a cheerleader damage aura build
Since the first iteration of veteran rework tree i have ALWAYS majority played as Cheerleader veteran. It would be nice to have some more gunout playstyle
I mean you literally are doing personal attacks just own up to it. I’m not bothered. I just wish you would actually elaborate give context examples to defend your position instead of leaving it so weak. You say I got ratio’d but I saw decent responses and alternatives to what I’m suggesting which is great for handling the ammo issue.
Even your logic here doesn’t add up. Infinite ammo won’t save a bad player on higher difficulty.
Here’s a brilliant idea? Get this… Start finding ammo crates and tins to be on your merry way. Also, maybe stop spamming your range like 90% of the time too. Damn, it’s not that hard. I’ve had enough games in the past where I’m the only person on the team who didn’t have orange ammo in auric. If everyone is playing ranged build, like Gunlugger and Gunpsyker, it means ammo will be nearly extinct on the map. Not to mention some players pick up ammo even if they don’t need, they just spam E on every loot box they see.
I’ve played non-lasguns builds on Vet and had to melee more instead, because I didn’t want to fight over ammo with my teammates.
While this is more of a team-specific problem (bad teamplay and bad team comp that features too many ranged-heavy builds), doesn’t mean OP deserves the ridicule of calling him a bad player for absolutely fair suggestions.

There is more than one difficulty, the hardest isn’t supposed to be easy. Buffing everything again would put player power above sister of the thorn. Endless powercreep and number scaling is not a good idea, and is a waste of developer time
The buffs that he suggests give back 5 ammo instead of 1 ammo every 5 seconds.
To gain more ammo that you spent means tracking Survivalist’s cooldown and not shooting at all before it goes back up.
This ALSO means not shooting common shooters at all, which do not return any ammo.
Unless you headshot or crit with specific build, Bolter needs two ammo per Gunner on bodyshots (assuming you never miss shooting far away targets). Bigger enemies need more than that. More so In Havoc.
This will not triviliaze your precious gameplay of spamming melee left click 50% of the mission and instakilling the majority of melee enemies in 1-2 hits.
I’m not as stubborn or hardheaded as you. If you can make and defend the point reasonably I will change my mind, but coming from you I doubt any capability to do so.
