Helldivers 2 & WH40K, official collaboration

please no, keep the spring break bucket drinkers out of my game for emprahs sake.

only ā€œhumaā€ i want to laugh at is exterminatus, purging heretics and killing xenos.

I was confused about this during Skulls because what Helldivers absolutely did not need right now was more Warbonds.

They need to fix the game.

Rust + WH40k was pretty wild too.

So much for ā€œGW being stingy with their IPā€.

Anyone else noticed the new trend of almost every single warhammer related game to include scenes in the trailers with ā€œdevsā€ pretending to paint figures as if to say :

Ok, we have more infos from Arrowhead than Fatshark.

I wonder what they could do…

Remember they joked about this and I half thought it was real because I replied to a thread on April 1st at like 5am in the morning…now its real like a year or two later. I don’t even remember when that prank was, but it seemed to be testing the waters more than legitimately pranking.

that’s what you do with the model kits? is there supposed to be no overlap of the marketing here because it would be ā€˜cringe’ or something? though I think Fat Shark is much more jazzed on Warhammer Fantasy than 40k.

Fair enough.
I didnt really see it as a marketing overlap. More of a ā€œlook we, paint warhammer too, we know about it alot so trust us with the gameā€ type of thing.

I did not think it was serious
I don’t see what they could do… Except maybe explaining to Fatshark how an extraction shooter works to make it great

But still, I like the comm from Arrowhead

when you get jaded enough everything feels disingenuous, but they’ve had minis in a lot of fat shark designer videos for a while. like even in vermintide. maybe it comes across as corporate but I’ll remind you it is a toy company attempting to sell you models for its tabletop game. and subscriptions to this warhammer universe animation that I hope isn’t using AI stuff. it would be crazy to not show the inspiration behind the game in any of those style videos. it’d be like making a game based on a movie and then interviewing the people who made that game and them saying ā€˜but we don’t want to talk about the movie’.

I just think Warhammer is going to release some Helldiver miniatures sort of a spin off table top game that they can sell more models of

my god… what brains can do…
I have read wrahammer 40k darktide… but there was no darktide word…

sure, of course, this is that.

Was there a time when Autodesk stingray game didn’t needed a fixing? Or as friend put it, there is no such thing as a bad time to fix Helldivers or Darktide

Because three guys painting minis next to each other at their job feels pretty disingenuous and it doesn’t requires to be actually that jaded.

And ill remind you back that in many regions this was and still kinda is an entirely foreign and alien concept of Warhammer, by the sheer virtue of this stuff being too expensive for most and even if you could afford it there were very very few people to actually play the tabletop with!

Instead Warhammer took a regionally parallel existence that was almost entirely divorced from a tabletop unless we talking about taking inspiration from books and videogames for your local DnD clone campaign!

That being said, sorry for the lecture o7

I wonder if FS has those miniatures setup in the office

I agree… which is a bit weird.

I am not interested in Helldivers 2.

I haven’t tried it, I feel not attracted by it.

But I found the collaboration as funny… and confusing.

:joy:

They did show of some of their miniatures, with some that are in their office too before Darktide launch.

They’re really nerds.

Also isn’t the 1st collab of a 40k game **in a non-**warhammer game (CoD)

Pretty sure it’s just gonna be a overpriced warbond and nothing else.
