More content… well heres a way for both the darktide gamer and fatshark to be happy. I would absolutely welcome a paid DLC with a collection of new maps to keep the game more fresh and exciting..![]()

Not trying to be insulting, but how long have you been a gamer? Have you ever played games with map pack DLC before?
"The philosophy for Darktide is that any content that could split the playerbase, we give away for free. So any mission content, game mode content, or any new weapons and stuff like that we’ll give away for free.
“We feel that a player class lives on the side. You don’t have to have it, you can still play with all your friends. So that is something we can charge for, because it’s an addition to the game. It doesn’t split the playerbase in any way.”
If there was only 1 thing FS had 100% correct and is 100% player friendly, it’s the decision not to split up the player base with content such as this.
It has been done before in older games and it was never player friendly.
I also suspect it wasn’t the best business decision, but can’t back that up with evidence at the ready.
Maybe you desire it to be implemented like VT2 or some other games where only 1 party needs it? If that was something FS wanted to do, I think they’d have already set out on that path.
It could be it’s more mechanically difficult to implement with the server hosting and connectivity of DT vs VT2 as well, idk.
If I could QP into it for free, why would I buy it unless it was really worth the money?
We can’t freely choose missions in this game, so how would I regularly access the map content I paid money for?
No, please don’t try to change FS’s mind on one of their few truly great decisions.

No need to apologise i don’t find it insulting at all you asking how long I’ve been a gamer my fist games machine was an Atari 2600 console so a long time I was playing darktide from launch and it was what I would call lunch money I’ve definitely got my moneys worth over the years more than value for money. Devs don’t work for free they paid proper wages these days I think you maybe need to move with the time work costs money…
How about no.
They’ve promised to keep maps free and making it paid wouldn’t make it faster
Well technically the paid shop is supposed to cover for the costs instead of making the gameplay content paid. Like Cheddar said it’s better to not segregate players, getting VT2 base edition makes it look a bit barren without all the story maps.
But I do agree more maps more often would be great.
I didn’t speak at all on this concept, but the other considerations that even the lead game designer believes in.
Theoretically, if the price (and quality) was right, I would buy such a thing. I bought arbites along with probably most of the player base. I don’t think we want to avoid this to keep the devs from getting the money they are “due.”
no
Classes and weapons are the only acceptable content for DLC. Further population fragmentation should be avoided.
Currently, Darktide already has quite a few maps, so I don’t really feel that it’s lacking in that area.
Personally, rather than adding more maps, I’d prefer to see new enemies or bosses introduced to increase variety.
Well, balance adjustments should come first, though
Classes and their exclusive weapons, to be precise.
I wouldn’t want another warbond situation, personally.
And I’d rather see them sell cosmetics for those weapons instead.
Yes, cosmetic packs as DLC gets a thumbs up from me. Do it the DRG way and I have no complaint.
Imagine not being able to play what you bought due to the RNG’ness of the mission selection.
The cosmetic shop is so comically greedy that my personal line is and remains that all other content should be free (including classes, which is why I haven’t bought Arbites so long as the store sucks) so yeah, no, maps would be even worse.
Sorry bud, splitting the player base from quickplay and havoc is one thing but dividing each by 2 again doesnt make much sense.
I would love new maps, and feel if we ever did pay for them, they would still come at the same dev pace currently scheduled.
