HAVOC: Why the hell do purple enemies take -300% impact?

Is this a joke?

Sorry, did you want to have fun? We don’t do that on Havoc.

God forbid you want to play an off meta build in a 40 and have some fun. Sweden does it again.

because that’s the design, they remove entire mechanics from the game and limit resources to where only a small number of ranged weapons are allowed to exist. just spam attacks on a crit based weapon with decent ADM and high move speed (so dueling sword) like you’re supposed to and be happy, this is what the dudebros asked for from havyuck. it somehow got worse than its original version with overtuned shooters.

Another “Fatshark don’t play their own game“ moment. Ogryn’s charge doesn’t stagger purple enemies, neither chain weapons special so you can throw away these weapons into a trash bin.

To make you play Arby dog build. Now if only you can ping that pink Rager hiding inside of 1,000 Crushers.

You play Havoc and you expect something else?
Must be a bait or a joke.

Yeah, on Fatshark’s part.

Trash change on the Garden modifier!

Who makes those design decisions? Half of the Havoc changes / difficulty modifiers belong in the trash. Core combat rules should be never affected by game difficulty modifiers. Too many of those modifiers just undermine playstyle variety for sake of already broken “meta” setups.

This is putting stagger heavy melee playstyles at a massive disadvantage when they are already very limited. Quite a few build set ups suffer because of this for no reason. Why is damage output, especially versus armoured enemies so over-promoted in Havoc?

The game is supposed to have 100+ fairly distinct weapons, and a lot of class talents which remain under-utilised, because of such poorly thought out decisions.

Can you knock them over with cc ability(like shout)?

I like to think its so you can isolate pink enemies when things get congested(crusher covering pink rager example). Thats my biggest complaint with the modifier. I think the impact change is a small price to pay to give you agency in separating them from normal enemies.

Well, you all seem to enjoy a masochist game mode..

Havoc for me somewhat addresses the issue with player character power creep in base difficulties. I enjoy higher enemy, monster and boss numbers in Havoc. Mass and HP changes to most enemies are fine. I enjoy the challenge and suffering, but I dislike how the current trend remove playstyle variety, and I won’t shut up about it.

Emperor’s light shooter changes are meh and obnoxious thanks to the schizophrenic AI director who can fill whole arenas with trash and elite gunners.

The “rainbow” difficulty modifiers go from tedious (yellow), to I rather play something else especially in specific combos, like purple and red. Rotten Armour can f…off, and then f…off even more. Especially when at the same time they introduce NEW stuff like needle pistol with Pickpocket, and BUFF Boom Bringer. An absolutely clueless approach to making that game mode challenging.

I stopped playing the game again because of this reason, base difficulties are a joke now due to all the power creep just put 1 competent player and the game becomes “press w to win” even on maels and havoc is well … havoc. Am really starting to believe that fatshark forgot how to design their game or the ppl who initially designed it left. I lost interest but i put a total of 2k hours in this game so i guess i got my money worth.

I liked the fading light effect. I liked the changes on hordes, HP of enemies and the general spawning rules.
But all conditions look stupids in my eyes… the rainbow effects are ugly. The artificial difficulties silly.
All of this because they could not handle the difficulty and nerf what needed to be nerfed.

But… to be honest… Havoc was the beginning of the end for me. I play less and less Darktide. The game is not balanced at all and when you play you meet most of the time players using all what is broken in game.
That’s why I keep asking a solo game mode. Not because of the other players, but because they have totally broken the balance.

And to confirm that my interest has dropped… I played a lot Dune Awakening… now I returned to Elite Dangerous… And I wait for Deep Rock Galactic Rogue Core.
I would play Darktide more if there was a solo game mode… but most of the times I play the game, I end with Leave mission and ALT + F4 for various reasons…
But the main is, my interest has dropped at the same time the balance in the game has disappeared.

Nota: 3 days I have not opened Darktide… and I think that last time I opened it, I played an operation and left the game… so… 10 minutes played.
An other clue that shows that my interest dropped, I have not bought anything from the comestic shop for a long time… since the DLC release. Scums is the last thing that make me wanting to play it… just because the class is still somewhat new. I haven’t played the other classes since the DLC release. I have no wish to play them…

Don’t worry, I’m sure the next patch they will buff Rotten Armour, psyker and hive scum again. Allow for more melee setups where you get between 1/3 to 1/2 one shot kills, or more silly ranged setups which kill 100s of enemies wholesale. Who knows, maybe we are going to more rainbow colours added to the mix to compensate for the running away player power numbers

It’s weird that they understood pink needed a nerf, thus they nerfed the heal

Why did they add the impact to it tho? lol

I don’t know who is making those decisions / signing them off, but they aren’t paying attention. MAYBE its time for a leadership change.

Not gonna lie, I miss the old combat guy. The state of balance and gameplay decisions since he left has been a straight up ride right to the bottom.
