I am sure there are some lifers who might enjoy this for like one week before they start complaining about the modifiers being too difficult or too easy or whatever, but the majority of players are going to drop off, because this is content that caters to like a 1% of the playerbase or something like that.
It’s the same way in MMOs, the vast percentage of players there also don’t raid. I played a game today with someone who was like ‘wow my first Heresy run! thanks guys’.
So I don’t know who this gamemode was made for? Don’t we already have Aurics and Auric Maelstrom? Isn’t that enough…? Or wait, no one can agree on whether Auric is too hard or too easy, or whether the players are bad or what, so who knows I guess.
Anyway here’s my actual feedback.
I do things like play video games that are not Darktide, so I can only assume I am never ever going to progress in this gamemode ever at any point, judging by the descriptions in the blogposts made about it.
Because of this you may want to back off on all the weird time constraints etc, because when I don’t progress in gamemodes I simply don’t play them, and if you are attempting to court players for longer durations to keep them gaming, then uh, it’s not going to work on me or players that think like me, that like to ‘keep’ their progression so they can return to it at any time.
Well, if this is the 1% that always rush and feel that the game is too easy (and of course use OP weapons), and that we see them less in our regular games, it will be good.
However, if they think that it is something that the community wait for it, I am really not sure.
I don’t want to complain before experimenting it, but I am not a big fan of what they described. I must admit it is more something that I don’t want, than something I was waiting for (I think the game should favor cooperation and that havoc is on the competition part with ranking and its rules).
In my mind, such mode will favor OP weapons. The difficulty is here, there was no real need to introduce an increased difficulty (at least that’s my opinion).
The end of the Alt+F4 exploit will change a lot the perceived difficulty. If they had balanced things (so nerfing what is too strong) it would have been perfect.
With the alt+F4 fix, I am sure the rate of successful missions will drop, and by a lot.
We don’t know if it is
It is what I suspect, however I can be wrong
But if in fatshark plans this is something done for the entire community, I am not sure of the choices made.
As an example, i think that leaving in the first 10 minutes should not be considered as a lost game (except if you have been knocked down). Just one example.
That’s the best part! Its neither since its technically RNG and skill based. Of course there’s people that never get off the game and just find it super easy.
This is actually where you’re failing. Much like dark souls horde games are big on “slam your head into a wall until you crack and break through said wall.” Because as you fail you understand more which leads to knowledge intake which will lead to skill.
Either way none of that matters just have fun in any way you can!
