So my week has essentially been ruined by the havoc rank reset - again.
I clawed my way up to h40 in 1.0
I clawed my way up to h40 in 2.0.(which was considerably harder)
I simply do not enjoy getting rugpulled like that.
Playing on 40 was nice and enjoyable, experimenting with builds, everyone was chill, even though it was hard to consistently win a run, because we could enjoy ourselves without fear of deranking and then not being able to q another 40 in our playgroup.
Climbing to 40 on the other hand was the single most miserable experience i had the displeasure of witnessing in this game.
And i really don’t like that this is just happening for the second time. For 2.0 i could atleast understand it, given the difficulty increase. But this? This just feels like the game doesn’t respect my time.
I’m so disappointed. I really looked forward to this patch, bought Arbites and wanted to rank him up quickly with the lads to mess around as 4 Policemen in h40. Guess that won’t happen now.
I don’t even know what i expect from posting this, because probably nobody cares. But i really am down in the dumps because of this. I don’t think I’ll rank again if i know this will just keep happening. and if i can’t challenge myself in the highest difficulty, then why even play at all.
To me it comes across as trying to make the game mode competitive, but that just doesn’t work for this game imo. They answered people’s call for letting them rank up even if they aren’t host, but in return they do away with ranking up to your highest havoc done that week so you need to consistently win havoc in this inconsistent game. If we (I) knew them letting party members rank up would reduce Havoc to this I’d never support it.
They did it because of the new class, but still… It’s BS. They gave no warning Number 1. Number 2, It’s an unnecessary grind. I’ve already proven I can do 40’s. I don’t need FS to be walking me by a leash. Just keep the fking ranks for fk sakes, or get rid of the ranking system altogether. I’m good with both.
I have had the most incredibly frustrating few days of self flagellating my way back to 40 for the third time, exclusively solo que. This has to be the worst of the three too. I don’t know what they did to the servers because every time I’ve gotten close to even winning a game in 35+ Havoc someone CTDs or DCs or everyone does and it screws up the terminal. It’s the worst it’s ever been. This on top of the BS of Havoc being Havoc and throwing 5 bosses at once or spawning a Ritual on a lower floor level or behind a elevator.
Fatshark has been real quite regarding tbis and not even acknowledging this compared to cosmetic gate. Revert the derank fatshark, there wasnt anything new to this to warrant it like the change from havoc 1.0 to 2.0. You just did it for player retention.
I was rank 36 before the update, got very close to clearing 40 a couple of times. Then got reset to 20, True Level Mod reset aswell. Figured I could just join some higher games to get my rank up quicker. Cleared a 30. Got +1 rank.
You should have gotten a 30 if you hit 36 before reset.
Just to clarify, cuz I was confused after the 2.0 reset in the same way, your rank is fully wiped and you get a personal assignment at the nearest whole number rounded down. So 36>30, 26>20, etc.
But, if you do another assignment than your own, your new highest clearance is that assignment. So you may think you were reset to lower than you were.
I keep seeing this comment about Havoc Seasons… when do they start? I keep seeing the same missions on the same maps with the same modifiers? This reset business literally kills my enjoyment of the game because I have to put my Try-Hard hat on and not play with people outside of my best group to win.
If FatShark is going to arbitrarily reset my Havoc level randomly, you better give me a reward for running your rat maze again.
Forced player engagement. It seems there’s some really stupid executive up high in Fatshark that thinks time played is the only metric. We saw the same thing with their refusal to change the old RNG crafting system (where when the devs seemed to want to change) where you were forced to grind to get where you want.
