First off, I’d like to say I really like this mode. I enjoy the numerous random modifiers and the added difficulty from the debuffs imposed on the players. More difficulty = more fun. Sometimes, more difficulty means scaling up their health as a DPS check. DPS checks are a good thing.
I really don’t mind a lot of the gripe that others have been voicing about Havoc with regard to progression, or how the mechanics of the game have changed (with the toughness gate) or making shooters shoot faster. I would expect nothing less from the games hardest mode. I had fun thinking up ways to get around these obstacles. I can’t wait to see how you make further iterations to this system to develop it more. The way I see it? This is just the introduction.
But… I need to talk about the one thing I don’t like, and I hope this is symptomatic of this being the first iteration. The weekly rewards. We need something more than ordo dockets, plasteel and diamantine… Perhaps some reds…? And maybe some havoc-specific mat rewards that will allow us to modify them? This will counter the build cornering people are complaining about and give people access to reds with higher qualities being in the later clearance levels.
