Getting banned for such harmless comment is stupid, but nothing unusual for Reddit. This is Reddit you’re dealing with, one of the most delirious places on the internet. Reddit basically hates opinions, redditors themselves are deranged. “Reddit moderator” is literally a meme. I have no idea how Reddit of all places manages to retain such a big audience among western users. If you visit delirious social media platform like Reddit, expect delirious moderation.

I’ve had my own bad opinions: Selfishly self-serving, immoral, or just plain stupid. Many of us have. But how many have had the bravery, the boldness, to step forward and legitimize their terrible take by calling it "political, or by attacking basic assertions of human rights as “political”?
That takes some real guts and vision. Or, well, I guess it could just be the most banal evil, and there’s media empires founded on providing an unlimited supply of moronic justifications … but it might have been guts and vision.
