Game keeps crashing (frozen black screen)

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

I got a new pc and within 1 week of trying to play DT on it, I’ve crashed more times than playing on my old laptop. I first thought it was caused by mods, but it still crashes, just with different crash log messages. The game is completely unplayable for me.

I’m using a prebuilt Lenovo Legion PC rig, with updated BIOS to newest version released on April 15th, 2025. Its specs are: Nvidia RTX4070Ti Super, Intel i7-14700f, 48gb RAM, 1tb SSD.

I’m using the newest Nvidia Game Ready Driver 576.02 (which I did a clean install for), and I’ve also verified game file integrity numerous times. I’ve also added the “enabled = false” line to direct storage in user_settings config file, but it’s still crashing.

Sorry to hear this. The Access Violation crashes appear to be related to mods/the mod loader, something to do with Tagging. I can’t pinpoint which mod is the problem.

The Deadlock & DXGI errors are, unfortunately, a shot in the dark.

The i7-14700F does unfortunately have a manufacturing issue which causes some instability in Darktide, usually presenting as data corruption crashes. But this should have been addressed in the BIOS update. There’s more information about this over on Intel’s website.

Still, you may wish to try the old workaround for this by underclocking the ‘Performance Core’ speed using Intel XTU, from x55 to x53.

Thank you. I’ll try the underclocking method just in case.
