Game is less accessible to new players

Then he is a little b1tch and that’s it. Also good luck with this attitude in real life… “I want 100 000$ a month for doing zero-skill job”

Who in their right mind thinks it’s ok to complain that best in slot items are available from harder difficulties… this is common sense. It was always like this. Untill lately this new age bulls*t is starting to appear where people think they should get best rewards for playing low effort difficulty.

This is just pathethic and it’s ruining the games. And this is also reason why they did not provide rewards for Cataclysim (also ridiculous…) but I sad it 10 times before… that with this logic people will complain about Legend being to hard so the Emperor Vault should be dropped down to Champ… and than people will complain the same thing so … you end up with Emperor Vault dropping in Recruit.

This is the dumbest complain I’ve ever heard.

I still think a simple solution is to add in weekly quests that give red dust. That way you can craft a weapon of your choice even if you don’t have the fancy blue glowing skin. I have all my reds and have had them all for hundreds of hours. But I remember playing for 800 hours before I got my red glaive. It is rather annoying…

Perhaps a slight increase in loot drop wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Champion Emperor chests have a 8% drop rate. Which means you’re better off doing Legend runs with zero books. As even the lowest level Emp vault has a higher drop rate.

This is not “every hack and slash” and this is basically not about loot at all, this is much more like Unreal Tournament or Q3A. It’s about the gameplay itself. They could actually drop the who whole leveling nonsense and it would prolly be much better than it is with it

They should start with adding reward to Cataclysm difficulty otherwise it’s not really different from modded realm stuff. I will prolly play it rather on modded just so I can use the geheimnissnacht lighting… how bad design is that, when players are willing to that.

I dunno… I’m kinda skeptical to adding better drop rates then legend into Cata. At the same time. I’d love to see some cosmetics added in there. Just things to “show off” with. Like portraits or statues for your keep. Special art and animated portraits like we got for that winter event.

Why ? This no-reward or negative-reward for hard endgame content is incredibly dumb and has no precedent in successful games whatsoever.

It’s mindblowing that I even have to argue about this.

i totally agree with you.
id think the game is better without leveling and talents.
i think gear load out differences should also be the only differences amongst various play styles.
there shouldnt be an optimal build within a class or for a character, there should be many viable choices.

i would like (unlike vt1) a better loot system where it is easier to lock in a trait on a weapon and then work to max that trait out vs pure rng. where one can deliberately forge the specific weapon you want.

I agree 100% man, I’ve yet to hear a compelling argument as to why Cata can’t have chests with better droprates than Legend.

Sure, that means there’ll be people playing Cata purely for loot, but if that helps them get better at the game then great! If they don’t try to get better, well they’re not going to get loot as often because they’ll be wiping a lot more and that becomes their problem.

To that someone might say it’s annoying for existing Cataclysm players having bad teammates like that, but that anyway happens when you get teammates who are inexperienced with the new difficulty and attempting to improve. And most of the people here seem to agree it’s an arse move to kick people doing their best to learn the ropes, so imo that’s not a valid complaint.

If you want good teammates you can literally just go for a premade. If you don’t know anyone who plays VT2 irl then just add people from good runs and play with them in future, that’s what I do if my friends are busy and I don’t feel like QP.

Unreal Tournament or Q3A are both competitive PVP games, or E-Sports if you will where the game play is about winning to get sponsors to get a trophy for not having a life , not PVE Co-op. Plus if it’s about the game play, many, many others do that far better. If it was PVP game it would be understandable, but it’s not. Plus even Unreal Tournament and Q3A have in game populations that exceed V2 by nearly 4x at peak, and hold populations of nearly 8 times when the game trickles off to under 5K active daily players. This is not a E-Sport. There is no world championship. There is no reason to compete with your team outside of that one guy that steals all the potions.
If it is about “the game play”, there is a lot to be desired as far as that aspect goes, because the game play loop is: Spend 10-20 minutes mindlessly slaughtering waves of enemies, pull switch/open door etc, get a box of RNG loot containing 3 items you will probably break down into crafting mats, rinse, repeat. You can do that on Fallout 4 with the right mods if you wanted, but you can’t even mod vermintide 2 outside of a “authorized UI/QoL mod” or it disables saves and loot drops. It’s a trash game, with trash devs, and trash mechanics. Not even worth the 7.50 I paid for it. I would ask for a refund but I played it for 2.8 hours, would have been longer but got bored, tried to mod it to realize I can’t because it would be pointless to do so as it would just stop the already bad loot from dropping, and disable saving and xp gains.

Well at least you finally admitted that you are a troll. 2.8 hours of gameplay… LOL.

The change they made last year to allow reds to drop from every legend chest ruined quick play for months. People would leave/suicide if they queued anything that wasn’t bell/stand. People would play specific classes like Shade/Pyro so they could avoid having to pick up grims. The obsession over trying to get a small chance at purely cosmetic items was insane. And a vast majority of these people were not capable of actually being successful in Legend, and werent interested in getting better, but just wanted to get carried to a better chance at meaningless loot.

If you are playing cataclysm for an end chest, or any amount of loot, you are playing it for the wrong reasons. It is meant purely as a challenge mode, nothing more, nothing less. If that challenge isnt enough to get you excited/keep you playing, then it isn’t for you.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it and your arguments are indeed good ones. I still disagree however:

That’s a problem with maps having uneven difficulty and length, not a problem with loot.

I mean… Humans gonna human. Cosmetics are a huge incentive and good way to keep people playing, they also are good to incentivise going up in difficulty instead of just farming the lower ones.

Again, if you want to avoid those kinds of players, play in premades, simple as that

As it is now my friends and I are missing many reds however, currently we’re better off playing Legend if we want to get the remainder of them efficiently but we like to play Cata instead. The effort invested doesn’t pay out well though, so we’re actively penalised if we want to finish gearing up while doing Cata.

I also disagree with this whole premise of playing for loot is somehow bad. I can’t remember the last MMO or RPG I play long term that doesn’t give you better loot the higher in difficulty you go.

Maybe you could count GW2, as there it’s not hard by any stretch to get almost-BiS gear, but they at least award you with cosmetics for doing specific things, so there’s still an incentive. It’s often called Fashion Wars 2 for that reason.

Well, just check the other post, where guy is crying that friends don’t want to play this because it’s too hard and they don’t like the idea that you get best stuff from hard content … like what ?

Exactly.

Yea, this is just nonsense, because the same, actually even worse situation is currently happening in Legend so we prolly should drop Emperor Vaults just down to Recruit and be done with this. Because that is where these dumb arguments lead.

Legend is also very hard now for most players it seem. So is Champ for casual players and so is Vet for some % of the playerbase.

I was talking about the fact that if someone played those games a lot, they played it for the actual gameplay itself, it wasn’t about any leveling. And in same sense it works for VT2 for long time players. People don’t play it to get more levels, they play it because they enjoy the actual gameplay, not some frickin rerolling items, or opening boxes and other crap.

And it has nothing to do with PVP/PVE difference. I played UT a lot with bots too, it wasn’t PVP in that case, and still I played it because I enjoyed the combat. It’s the same here. Is what I’m trying to explain.

You are not getting the message, this has nothing to do with it.

Oh I see, well here is the issue. You’re obviously very new to this game. Because you are doing absolutely nothing … with this style you’re describing in high difficulties. You will get murdered by first wave of trash mobs. The combat is very complex here, you just dont know anything about it right now.

Well ye that explains everything, you are like John Snow… after 2.8h

Seriously, people at 500h mark are still kinda newbies in this.

My point is that I will prolly just move back to modded realm if I will want to do Cata cos why would I play it without mods mutators etc, on official, when there is no reward anyway. It makes no sense. It achieved nothing in this regard.

As for people doing suicides etc in Legend, well than great, if they enjoy that, more power to them. (Btw it’s kinda happening to this day, JDLing… is what I call it. And even before WOM hype it was not too rare to have like 10+ people join die and leave during one run)

But main issue in this is that there is no penalty for leaving. That would fix this super fast. And not just this, also rage quitting and other nonsense.

Solution is not to push rewards to low difficulties, that is absurd.
