Everytime I try to boot up Darktide it loads the shader cashe. Boots upto the loading screen but then crashes everytime. The icon at the bottom right stops spinning and then it just boots me back into steamOS.
Sorry ill add this aswell. I know steamOS is new for PC but I played it last week and it ran perfect with no issues so im not sure whats changed to cause this.

I am on bazzite on a PC and Darktide runs great for me, are you in desktop mode?
if you right click on darktide and get to launch commands try pasting this in there:
FSR4_UPGRADE=1 %command%
Go to Compatbility and check Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select GE-Proton10-34
see if those two things help

Im still having the same issue when trying both of them things.
Im confused on this tho cause it worked with no issues last week but now its just broken as all hell.
I know steamos is new to PC but it works one week and broken the next.
Im seeing if reinstalling the game for a second time works but not gonna lie im close to loosing my head with this one.

In my quest to switch off windows myself, I personally use google gemini for lynix advice and its quite good, you need to give it details on what hardware you have and your OS version like this:
so it knows what you are working with and it can be quite helpful!
I use CachyOS (Nvidia gpu). My son use Bazzite (AMD gpu). Both works great
However, ray tracing is the problem on Linux.
For OP problem, I would point GE-Proton10-34 as a possible fix.
An other thing I would do, is to delete the config file to reset all options.

I got to pissed off and left it. My mate better at this stuff than me took over and hes currently still at it and getting the same thing over and over again.
Really at a loss on it but the helps been much appreciated 
Thinking maybe some updates just arnt happy so gonna wait for the next patch and try again then.

Im gonna try windows again and see if thats works. Ive tried installing it on a new drive, deleting the cashe files, like everything ive seen online and from yous ive tried. But its just broken. Im now fairly convinced the patch they just released have completly broke the game for me. Hopefully a new patch will fix it if not then back to Windows till they can actually figure out whats going wrong.
If you don’t want returning to the Wincrap, you should make a try with a distro gaming orientated like Nobara, Bazzite or CachyOs.
Perso, I use a nvidia RTX 5080 and I’ve put CachyOs. It works really better than Fedora, especially about the RTX5080 management
For my son, I have put a Bazzite. The computer uses an AMD GPU.
Both are good distro… but I tend to prefer 100 times CachyOS, because Bazzite is clearly an OS for gaming. CachyOS permits to play and do whatever you want… Also Cachy has apps + AUR + flatpak packs where Bazzite is only Flatpak apps.
But when I see that… I repeat that I would delete the configuration file and start again the game with basic settings.
